Message From Down Size D.C. .org

I got a news letter from Down Size D.C. .org (http://www.downsizedc.org , today telling about the progress they have made on one of their projects. In case you have never heard of them, they are a grassroots organization that is trying to do just what their name says, down size D.C., meaning the federal government. They have been working on a piece of legislation that they hope and pray will be passed by both the United States House and Senate. If passed the legislation will force our elected officials in D.C. to read every piece of legislation that comes before them before voting on it. This is something that I'm sure some of you know is not being done at this time. In the past, when talking about problems that come up I have heard legislators say they would not have voted for a bill that would permit something like that to happen. If you check back on how congress voted you will find that not only did they vote for it but they promoted it whole heartedly. Later they will say well the bill was just to big, I didn't have the time to read the whole thing. If passed the "Read the Bills Act of 2005" will prevent that from happening in the future.

If you would like to read more about the "Read the Bills Act of 2005" go to, http://www.downsizedc.org/read_the_laws.shtml . While you are there be sure to click on, Draft Legislation to see the first draft of the bill. I feel this legislation is long over due.

Kofi Annan Cleared

I just read two articles about United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan being cleared of any wrong doing on his part in oil for food scandal. There were some who were urging him to step down (resign) others were talking about forcing him out. I was concerned about who would take his place if he did step down. Through out all of this Annan remained defiant, when ask if he would resign he said, "Hell, no."

Annan had nothing to worry about during the independent inquiry, he initiated it. That means he would have played a major role in the selection of the inquiry committee. If you were arrested for a crime wouldn't it be great if you could pick the prosecutor that would oppose you, the jury that would find you guilty or not guilty, and the judge that would sentence you if you were found guilty. That would prove the old saying crime doesn't pay to be wrong.

One of the articles said that China called on all of the United Nations member states urging them to support Annan. At first I thought this only makes sense for a Communist country to support the leader of a communistic organization. Then I started thinking, if Annan did step down the next Secretary General could possibly be from China. China is already a growing super power, just think of what they could do if they controlled the Secretary General of the United Nations.

Arizona Border News

I heard some good news (or what could be) concerning the problem we have with illegal aliens crossing the Mexican border with Arizona. The Homeland Security Department is assigning more than 500 new agents to patrol the border. About 155 agents are to be sent to Arizona immediately and more than 370 new agents, all trainees will be added through out the year. Until they are all in place another 200 agents will be placed on the border on a temporary basis during the high immigration season. The 370 mile Arizona/Mexico border is said to be the most venerable stretch of our 2,000 mile long southern border. Fifty one percent of the 1.1 million illegal aliens that were apprehended by the United States Border Patrol last year had entered the country by crossing the border coming into Arizona. God only knows how many crossed the border without being caught. We do know that there are terrorist cells being set up in Mexico, how hard would it be for them to sneak into the country with the illegal aliens that come into the country looking for work?

The news of the new agents came just days before a group of United States citizens (www.minutemanproject.com planned on doing what our federal government could not, or would not do. Protect our borders. The Bush administration is opposed to United States citizens taking action to prevent illegal aliens from crossing the border into the United States. I'm happy to hear that the federal government is finally taking action to protect our border. I pray that is really the reason these new agents have been assigned to the Arizona border. I'm afraid that there is a possibility that they could have been sent there for another purpose. To prevent The Minute Man Project and other citizen groups from interfering with illegal aliens crossing the border. After all, President Bush and Mexican President Fox have both shown in the past that they would like to see our southern border wide opened to north bound traffic.

Jurors Can't Use Bible

A March 29, 2005, Associated Press article, "Jury Can't Use Bible in Death Penalty Case", By Steven Paulson said that the Colorado Supreme Court threw out the death penalty for rapist/murderer Robert Harlan and sentenced him to life in prison without parole. Harlan received the death sentence for his crimes in 1995. Later defense attorneys found out that five of the jurors had looked up, copied, and discussed Bible versus such as eye for eye and tooth for tooth while deliberating the case behind closed doors. Defense attorney Kathleen Lord said the jurors had gone outside the law when they went to the Bible to find God's position on capital punishment. The court ruling said that some people consider the Bible and other religious writings to be a code of law, their decision could be influenced by hearing quotes from the Bible.

They are correct, you can find codes of law in the Bible, God's law and that over rides man made laws. Is it just me or does it seem like our Judicial System is trying to kick God out of everything we do? I wonder who these judges will turn to for comfort when their time on earth is over?

Out With Annan?

I just read a Washington Times article about United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan facing calls for his resignation after being criticized by a commission which he set up to investigate the Iraq oil for food scandal. There is no doubt that Annan has taken the communistic United Nations to all new record levels of scandal and corruption. We should still be wondering who will take his place if he is forced to resign. I have heard a good deal of talk about Bill Clinton becoming Secretary General of the United Nations. Now there's a thought. Could there be a better person than Bill for solving corruption and scandal problems. You couldn't find a person with more experience than Bill.

Yes, I'd like to see Annan resign, but there is something I'd like to see even more. I'd like to see the United States get out of the United Nations, and I'd like to see the United Nations get out of the United States.

Protect Our Soldiers From Predatory Lenders

I just received a monthly news letter from my United States Representative, Sam Graves (R-MO.). This month Sam talks about predatory lenders that might charge up to 300% in interest rates. Rep. Graves says some of these lending companies seem to be targeting our soldiers and their families. It's sad to think that a company would take advantage of a family that is in a stressful situation of any kind. I can't think of any thing that would be more stressful than having a family member in a foreign country fighting for their country. Rep. Graves says," I think we can do better for our troops. I have introduced legislation that caps the Annual Percentage Rate that these companies can charge soldiers and their families. You can still lend soldiers money, but you cannot charge 300%. This bill would limit those companies that seek to target our troops."

From time to time you hear someone say that even if you don't support the war you should support our troops. If you have wondered how you can do that here is your chance. Contact your United States Representative and urge him or her to support Rep. Graves efforts to protect our soldiers from predatory lenders.

Rep. Graves failed to mention a bill number when he sent out the news letter. If you do want to get involved in this issue you can contact him for more information through his web site at, http://www.house.gov/graves/ .

Gun Scare/Part Of A Plan

After reading a March 27, 2005 Associated Press press article about a gun scare that closed part of Cincinnati's main airport of two hours I started having some thoughts that would make some people think I might be suffering from paranoia. The article said that baggage screeners noticed an X-ray image of what might have been a gun after someone picked up the bag and left the check point. Part of the airport was closed for two hours while officials searched for the person and the weapon, neither were found. Officials don't think the person boarded a plane because they would have had to go through security again to do that. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is trying to figure out why the screeners didn't notice the image sooner.

What could have happened here? I don't know would it be possible to have some things (more than one item) in a bag that were touching each other. When the bag was X-rayed screeners saw what they thought was a gun. When the person picked up the bag could the items have shifted so if the bag was X-rayed again screeners would see a different image? If that is possible the person could have boarded a plane unnoticed, no harm done.

Could this have been someone's well planned idea of a bad joke, kind of like yelling fire or bomb in a crowded building? If that is the case I hope they are caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This is endangering lives.

Could the TSA be trying to catch screeners goofing off by having their own people plant bags with weapons to see if the screeners will spot the weapons. If that's the case they just caught some goof offs.

I saved what I think really happened for last. There was no bag with a gun in it. The person they were trying to find dose not exist. This whole thing was a hoax, part of a plan. If I'm right pretty soon now the TSA is going to announce that all of that security equipment that was installed in airports after 911 is already outdated. They will use this missing weapon and person for proof. They will need a budget increase to replace the outdated equipment. The needed money will come from you, the American tax payer.

Antidepressants/School Shootings

I've read a couple of articles on the recent school shooting that took place on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota that say the shooter, 16 year old Jeff Weise was taking Prozac. In one of the articles one of Weise's long time friends says that Weise had told him he was taking 40 milligrams a day. Twenty milligrams in the morning and another twenty milligrams at night. This came as no big surprise to me, if you look back at the majority of the school shootings that have taken place over the past few years you will find that most of the shooters were on prescribed antidepressants or they had just been taken off of them.

Firearms were around before our country was born. Young people have had access to firearms since the country was very young. If you were to go to your library and look in old news files starting in the 60's and going back you would find it very difficult to find articles about school shootings. School shootings seem to have started sometime after doctors started prescribing antidepressants to control hard to handle students. I'm thinking this plan isn't working real well.

I'm sure that soon now we will start hearing from the anti-Second Amendment groups like the Brady Campaign and the Million Moms. They will be calling for more gun control to prevent another tragedy like the one that took place in Minnesota. I don't remember ever reading an article about the Million Moms or the Brady Campaign being opposed to prescribing antidepressants to children. I guess they still feel drugged children are easier to control. After all that's what it's all about, complete control.

Armed Teachers

I just read a very interesting March 25, 2005, Associated Press article "NRA Leader Advocates Guns for Teachers", By Arthur H. Rotstein. Mr. Rotstein's article starts off with, "Phoenix -- All options should be considered to prevent rampages like the Minnesota school shooting that took 10 lives -- including making guns available to teachers, a top National Rifle Association leader said Friday." I'm going to have to check out the Phoenix area news papers for the next few days. The Letters To The Editor section should be very interesting. Can you imagine how upset the anti-Second Amendment crowd will be about the idea of having an armed teacher in a room full of sweet innocent little children? Sandra Froman, the NRA's 1st vice president told the Associated Press that she's not saying all teachers should be armed. She thinks we should look into any possible way we can save the lives of school children. I think anti and pro-gun people alike will have to agree with that. With out going into much detail the article says that gun control restrictions wouldn't have stopped Jeff Weise from killing nine people plus himself this past Monday. The weapons Weise used were stolen from his first victim. He didn't buy them from a private individual at a gun show so this can't be blamed on lax gun show sales laws. Froman says that if it is the responsibility of the teacher to protect the students it should be the community's responsibility to make that possible. She went on to cite the 1997 school shooting in Pearl Miss. A teacher ran to his car, off school property, to retrieve his gun after a student had opened fire. He returned, subdued the boy and held him until police arrived. Froman feels that prohibiting guns in schools will not stop someone that has evil in their heart and the capacity to carry out this type of crime.

I'm sure there will be a lot of opposition to the idea of arming teachers but think about this. Over the past few years state after state has passed laws making it possible for citizens to carry concealed weapons. In the states that have passed concealed carry laws the crime rate has dropped. Citizens that live in the states that allow concealed carry don't have to carry a weapon to benefit from the law. The idea of not knowing who is and who is not armed in its self prevents crime. If a bill was passed making it possible for teachers to carry concealed weapons in the schools it would have the same effect. Not knowing if the teacher was armed or not could stop a troubled student from becoming a school shooter.

Good News From The Hill

In two previous blogs I posted, Bloggers Could Be Gagged or Fined (3/10/05) and Protect Your Blog Site (3/22/05) I ask you to contact your elected officials and urge them to protect your First Amendment rights by repealing the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA). The BCRA could make it impossible for you to post messages about political issues or candidates during a campaign season.

Today I got what I feel could be good news in an e-news letter from The Hill (www.thehill.com). "Federal Election Commission (FEC) members said Thursday that they will seek to regulate the Internet as little as possible in order to comply with a court ruling that struck down the agency's blanket exemption for Internet activity. Rumors have circulated in the blogosphere that the FEC would curb political web log activity in response to a successful legal challenge to the agency's old rules by Reps. Chris Shays (R-Conn.) and Martin Meehan (D-Mass.), leading campaign-finance reformers on the Hill. "Some of the most spirited debates that have taken place in the course of preparing this notice have concerned how best not to regulate certain activities, such as blogging," Commissioner Ellen Weintraub, a Democratic appointee, said yesterday, referring to internal agency discussions about proposed rules for regulating the Internet. Commissioner Michael Toner, a Republican appointee, said yesterday, "I believe it was a conscious, informed judgment by Congress that the Internet should not be subject to the many restrictions that McCain-Finegold applies to other types of mass communication." David Mason, another GOP-appointed commissioner, said he was opposed to Internet regulation "across the board" and opposes new rules that would curb any Internet activity. Commissioners will likely put out new rules on Internet activity before the end of the year."

So, for right now it sounds like bloggers have some support in the FEC. Still we must never forget, in the world of politics things seem to change daily. Please continue to watch this issue for changes. If you took the time to contact your elected officials about this in the past I'd like to thank you for your efforts.

FBI Study Group

I just read an associated Press article By Donna De La Cruz, FBI to Create Group to Study Gun Law. The article says that FBI Director Robert Mueller will be forming a study group to review a law that allowed suspected terrorist to by guns once they cleared background checks. The article tells about 40 terror suspects that were able to buy firearms in the United States last year because background checks showed they had no felony convictions and weren't illegal immigrants.

I didn't read to far into the article before I started thinking we do have a very serious problem here. Is the United States in the habit of letting suspected terrorist enter the country? I don't think it is our gun laws that need to be studied, it is or immigration laws and policies.

Neighborhood Pact

On March 23, 2005 the leaders of the United States, President George W. Bush, Mexico, President Vicente Fox and Canada, Prime Minister Paul Martin promised there would be new cooperation in the area's of defense, immigration and trade. When I first read the article I found that in I figured the citizens of the United States were in trouble. The three leaders announced their neighborhood pact at Baylor University. They say the pact will make trade more efficient and borders more secure, but it won't obstruct business or traffic. Bush said the three countries have a lot of trade with each other and they intend to keep it that way. He went on to say,"I intend to make our borders more secure and facilitate legal traffic." Associated Press Writer, Deb Riechmann's article, U.S., Canada, Mexico Vow New Cooperation points out the fact that neither Canada nor Mexico backed the United States when the war with Iraq began. It also says that Mexico would like to see the United States change it's immigration policies. It mentions the Bush administration suspecting al-Qaida agents may be crossing the border out of Mexico and coming into the United States. It goes on to tell that Fox is complaining about American citizens patrolling the Mexico/Arizona border. Also discussed at the meeting were the issues of Canada refusing to be a part of a missile defense shield and Mexico's 20% tax on soft drinks containing high-fructose corn syrup from the United States.

When I was growing up neighbors were close, they watched out for each other, it doesn't sound to me like that is what is going on here. Fox's idea of changing our immigration policies would be for us to open our borders. If there are al-Qaida agents in Mexico that would make things much easier for them. I do like one thing Bush said in the AP article, part of it anyway, "I intend to make our borders more secure and facilitate legal traffic." I'd suggest we take that one step at a time. Let's start with making our borders more secure. There are a couple of ways we could do that, I think I mentioned them in a previous blog. Put our military on our borders, a lot of the countries that claim to be our friends or neighbors are doing that with their borders. Another idea would be to allow United States citizens to volunteer to patrol our borders, I know there are some that would be willing to give some time, check out, www.minutemanproject.com .

Protect Your Blog Site

The Federal Election Commission could take action as early as this week that will effect political blog sites. The regulations mandated by a court order that the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act applies to the Internet. The authors of BCRA hoped you would be lulled to sleep by the silence on this issue. Don't let that happen, if your First Amendment rights are lost it will be hard or impossible for you to get them back. If we don't take action now we could lose our ability to use the Internet as a free press. In a Washington Post article Republican FEC Commissioner David M Mason said, "We are most certainly going to move from an environment in which the Internet was per se not regulated to where it is going to be regulated in some part. That shift has huge significance because it means that people who are conducting political activity on the Internet are suddenly going to have to worry about or at least be conscious of certain legal distinctions and lines they didn't used to have to worry about." At this time some are saying the regulations will be moderate, will they stay that way? Once this is in place they will want more and more control. Please join the fight to keep an unregulated Internet, by sending congress a message urging them to repeal BCRA. You can send the message by going to, http://action.downsizedc.org/wyc.php?cid=19 please take action now.

Illegal Alien Numbers Rising

I have two articles on a very serious matter (problem) before me. The first one dated Tuesday, March 22, 2005, "U.S. Undocumented Immigrant Numbers Surge" By Michelle Morgante (Associated Press Writer) says that the tightening of homeland security since 2001 hasn't done much to slow down the flow of illegal aliens that are getting into the United States. A March 21, 2005 report shows the number of illegal aliens growing by 485,000 people a year. That number is far above the total population of the city I live in. According to the Pew Hispanic Center there were an estimated 10.3 million illegal aliens living in the United States last year, this is about a 23% increase from the 8.4 million that were here in 2000. To me this is an on going invasion and as far as I'm concerned our federal government is doing little to nothing to stop it. One of the reasons for this I would guess is because some businesses are using illegal aliens as a source of cheap labor. I would also guess that some of their profits are going to some of our legislators. In return they do all they can do to stop any legislation that would tighten our border security. From time to time you will hear about a large company getting caught up in a legal issue involving the hiring of illegal aliens. When this happens contact the manager of the store in your area, tell the manager that you will not be doing business there until you hear that the company policy has changed and they are no longer hiring illegal aliens, anywhere, not just in your area.

The second article, " U. S. needs to watch extremists, Fox says" By Chris Hawley tells about some of Mexican President Vicente Fox's views of our immigration policy. Fox says there appears to be an anti-immigrant sentiment growing in the United States. I don't feel I'm anti-immigrant, I'm anti-illegal alien. To me an immigrant is someone that gets all the legal paper work done, enters the country and applies for citizenship, I admire them, they are seeking a better life for themselves and their families . An illegal alien sneaks across our border or uses fraudulent paper work to enter the country. I am concerned about what their reasons for entering the country might be. Fox said he has urged United States officials to act quickly to control the actions of groups such as the Minute Man Project. The Minute Man Project is a group of United States citizens that are willing to volunteer to do what our federal government can't or won't do, secure the Mexico-Arizona border. You can learn more about the Minute Man Project at, http://www.minutemanproject.com . Fox is also opposed to a wall along the border and has criticized the construction of a new triple fence that has been planned for the San Diego area. Isn't that strange, every thing I have read on the subject in the past tells me that Mexico's southern border is very secure.

Both of the articles tell about the meetings President's Bush and Fox will be having this week. I'm sure they will discuss expanding NAFTA, we can kiss some more jobs good bye if that happens. Fox will tell Bush everything that he sees that is wrong about the United States immigration problem, and I'm afraid George will agree with him. I have a feeling that if Fox had his way the only thing that would be checked at the border would be United States citizens. Are we sure that terrorist organizations haven't set up cells in Mexico? We know that illegal aliens from Mexico cross the border daily. What would stop a terrorist from doing the same once they entered Mexico? It hasn't been to long ago that Bush went to Russia to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. While he was there Bush made some comments on foreign policy and human rights issues in Russia. The people of Russia were quick to respond, they pointed out the fact that Bush had not been elected president in Russia and suggested he return to the United States. Why don't we see this in the United States? Why should Fox the president of Mexico have any say in our immigration policy? Maybe we could learn a little from the citizens of Russia.

I'm sure some of you have congress members that claim to support the American worker. If yours does contact him or her and urge them to oppose any amnesty for illegal aliens deals that Bush and Fox cook up during their meeting this week. You might point out that every illegal alien that receives amnesty cost United States citizens at least one job. I think all of our members of congress say they want to protect us from terrorism. Contact them, tell them that you can not fight a war against terrorism while your borders are wide opened. Urge them to secure our borders, even if that means having them patrolled by our military. You will find an easy to use link for contacting your elected officials at, http://mygov.governmentguide.com/mygov/home/

New Cancer Cure Coming

I just read something that I thought was kind of frightening. It wouldn't be so bad if it was the plot for a science fiction or horror movie, but this article was about medical research.

It says that an estimated 60,000 Americans will be diagnosed with melanoma this year, and that another 8,000 people will die from the disease. Researchers have been trying to find a cure using gene therapy with no side effects for 20 years. Now a team of scientists at the University of California in Los Angeles are claiming that the AIDS virus HIV can be modified to target melanoma. It says the same thing that makes HIV incurable, it's ability to seek out and destroy T-cells could do the same thing to cancer cells. The article goes on with more lab talk about how the virus would be modified making it safe to use.

In the past I have read several articles telling where AIDS came from in the first place. Some of them claim that the virus was man made. Maybe a team of scientists from a university somewhere were attempting to cure a disease and AIDS was the side effect. Now another team wants to use HIV/AIDS to cure cancer. I hope this stays in the lab, on paper for a good long while. If unleashed on the public I wonder what the next side effect might be.

What Have We Learned?

Checking the news this morning I found out that United States District Court Judge James Whittemore has refused to order the reinsertion of Terri Schiavo's feeding tube. Terri's parents have appealed the ruling to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta.

At this time I will not ask you to contact your elected officials and urge them to help save Terri. I will however ask that you continue to pray for Terri and her parents. Ask God to give them the strength they need to get through this ordeal.

I hope we have all learned one thing from the Terri Schiavo case. Tragic events like Terri's heart attack do not pull families closer together. We should all let our families know what our wishes would be if something like this happened. Please take a little time to have a living will drawn up. It could save you and your families from years of court battles.

In The News

Have you noticed how much news coverage the Terri Schindler Schiavo case has been receiving? Now we're hearing the good news, about how congress and the president have stepped up to the plate in her defense. Don't get me wrong, I pray for Terri and her family daily. I was very happy to hear that action had been taken to save her life. I'm concerned about what other actions congress may be taking while we are busy reading the good news about Terri. The president and some members of congress want to take action to change our Social Security System which could save or destroy it. There are bills before congress to protect firearms manufacturers from lawsuits. If they are defeated some companies could be forced to close their doors costing the country thousands of jobs. The president and some members of congress would also like to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. That could cost United States citizens their jobs and tax payers thousands of dollars to cover health cost for uninsured illegal aliens.

We shouldn't forget about Terri and her family, continue to pray for them daily. Still we must never take our eye off our congress critters. I'm not so sure they always have what is best for all of us at the top of their list of priorities.

Owner Operators Manual

"The Bible is the best of all books, for it is the word of God and teaches us the way to be happy in this world and in the next. Continue therefore to read it and to regulate your life by its precepts." -John Jay

When you purchase a new vehicle or appliance you receive a very important booklet. The owners operators manual. In it you will find very important information on keeping your new vehicle or appliance in good working order.

I feel we should think of the Bible as the owner operators manual for our lives here on earth. In it you will find the solutions to all the problems that may arise in our daily lives.

Get The United Nations Out!

I got to leave for work in about an hour. I wanted to do something useful before I go in today so I signed a petition to get the United Nations out of the United States. They tell us Communism is dead, well as far as I'm concerned it's alive and doing well. It's headquarters are in New York at the United Nations Building. If you would like to read and sign the petition go to, http://www.moveamericaforward.org/index.php/SpecialProjects/UN-Out-Of-The-US .

Jail Time For A Judge?

After her feeding tube was removed I figured I wouldn't be writing any more about Terri Schiavo. Then I found a NewsMax.com (www.newsmax.com) article that tells about Senate Majority Leader Bill First reaction and comments. He pointed out that a subpoena issued by Sen Mike Enzi called for Terri to appear at a March 28 congressional hearing. Law says that anyone that interferes with a subpoenaed persons testimony could face jail time. The NewsMax.com article can be found at, http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/3/19/104732.shtml

I don't know about you, but I don't feel that anyone in our political system has put themselves above the law more than some of our corrupt judges have. If judge George Greer is convicted of contempt of Congress fined and jailed it could send a message to some of the other judges who feel they are above the law.

No Gun Show In Montgomery County, Maryland

I just read about a gun show operator that was told he lacked legal standing to challenge a Montgomery County, Maryland law which denies funding to public venues which display or sell firearms. A three judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of appeals reversed a ruling by U.S. District Judge Marvin Garbis in Baltimore. Garbis had ruled in favor of Frank Krasner Enterprises and gun show exhibitor RSM. Krasner had leased space to hold gun shows at the Montgomery County Agricultural Center in Gaithersburg. That was before the council barred financial aid to facilities that display or sell firearms in 2001. The AG Center had received over $5000,000 in a ten year period. The Center told Krasner he could no longer hold gun shows there due to the new law. An appeals court ruling said Krasner and RSM Inc. cannot sue because they are only indirectly affected by the law. The Center was directly affected but they were not a party to the suit. I don't quite understand how it is that they are not directly affected. This ruling will affect their income.

I wonder how the citizens of Montgomery County feel about losing their gun show? I assume the council members are elected officials. If I'm right about this maybe the citizens will let them know what they think when the next election rolls around.

Subpoenas Disregarded, Feeding Tube Removed

This has become very hard to keep up with to say the least. At 2:07PM today I posted a blog titled Congressional Action Spares Terri. Now I find out that the subpoenas mentioned there were disregarded and Terri's feeding tube was removed. The latest news I have seen on this comes from WorldNetDaily, (www.worldnetdaily.com) it says that without intervention Terri is expected to live another week to ten days. You can read the latest article at, http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43378 .

When I posted Congressional Action Spares Terri I said that I was sure some of you had been praying for Terri all along, and that I thought we should continue to ask God to give Terri and her family the strength they would need to get through this. I also suggested that we ask God to help the Florida House Government Reform Committee as they conducted their investigation. Now I'd like to add we should put the entire issue in Gods hands. If it is not in his plans to take her home at this time I pray the committee will find a way to stop the starvation process soon. If it is Terri's time to return home to her Father, I pray that it will be soon, without all the pain and suffering caused by starvation. Again I ask that Terri and her family will have the strength they need to get through this.

Congressional Action Spares Terri

The court ordered removal of Terri's feeding tube has been delayed. The House Government Reform Committee has launched an investigation into the case which has been tied up in court for around ten years. The committee issued subpoenas that will prevent the removal of the feeding tube before the investigation is finished. The committee has requested Terri and her husband (if that's what you want to call him) appear at an official committee hearing on March 28th. Everyone that signed petitions or made phone calls urging their elected officials to take action to save Terri's life played a major role in getting the committee to take this action. I feel that we still have work to do. I'm sure some of you have been praying for Terri all along. Now we should start praying and asking God to help the committee members as they conduct their investigation. Pray that they will be able to make the right decision. We should also continue to pray that God will give Terri and her family the strength they need to get through this.

WorldNetDaily has published another article about this case. It provides a lot of links to help their readers understand this case if they haven't been following it before now. You can find the article at, http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/printer-friendly.asp?ARTICLE_ID=4337 . If that link doesn't work look for the article at, www.worldnetdaily.com.

One More Chance To Help Save Terri

We have one more chance to help save Terri Shiavo from starvation. If action isn't taken to save her, her feeding tube will be removed tomorrow. There are a couple of things you can do. Call the President of the Florida Senate, Tom Lee at 850-487-5072 or 850-487-5229. Ask him to please support a vote for the bill to save Terri from being starved to death. If you are unable to do that send him a free e-mail message by going to, http://www.rightmarch.com/terri2.htm. If you live in the state of Florida you can also go to http://rightmarch.com/terri2-fl.htm to send a message to your state Senator as well.

One more thing you can do. Before you go to bed tonight say a prayer for Terri, while your doing that ask God to guide the Senators that will be voting on this matter of life or death.

Boy Scouts Under Attack

The Boy Scouts of America are under constant attack from the American Civil liberties Union (ACLU) because the Scouts had the moral courage to stand against allowing homosexuals to mentor and lead their boys. Grassfire.org has launched an initiative to help save the Scouts. Grassfires goal is to get 500,000 signatures on a petition supporting the Scouts. At this time they have 385,000 signatures, (my wife and I are signers) when their goal is reached they will present the petition to some of or elected officials that are working to help the Scouts as a massive show of citizen support. I pray you will take the time to go to, http://grassfire.org/2/petition.asp?PID=8357474&NID=1 and sign the petition to help save the Scouts from the Anti-Christ Legions United, that's my pet name for the ACLU. If that link doesn't work the petition can also be found at, www.grassfire.org .

Immigration Problem

I just got an e-mail message from my United States Representative, Sam Graves (R-MO). He says that when speaking about immigration reform he points out the fact that our country was made great by immigration, not in spite of it. He also says that he feels our current immigration policy is sick. He is concerned about potential terrorist getting into the country because of the policy problems. Graves says he will continue to call for a moratorium on non-resident immigration until the problems are fixed. When ask why we need to stop immigration to fix the problem he says,"In Missouri we know that if you want to fix a leaky faucet, you cannot do it while the water is running." Sounds to me like Rep.Graves wants to take a common sense approach to fixing the problem, he should be commended for that. Common sense is not put to use a lot on Capitol Hill. He goes on to say that the Department of Homeland Security needs time to implement new policies and a moratorium would give them that time. He says that we should be more concerned about safety rather than quickness when deciding who will be allowed into the country.

I'm not sure I can say I agree with Rep. Graves 100% on this issue, but I do feel that our immigration policy is in serious need of repairs. Our Border Patrol can't stop the flow of illegal immigrants that sneak across the border every day but they don't want to except help from private citizens that are more than willing to volunteer their time. If they don't want the help from citizens maybe it is time to look into having our borders patrolled by our military troops. I'm sure Mexico would be opposed to this, but take a look at their southern border. It is very well protected.

Contact your elected officials and ask them how they feel about this matter. After all we are involved in a "War Against Terrorism" doesn't it only make sense to protect your borders during a time of war? If you'd like you can contact Rep. Graves on this issue through his web site at, http://www.house.gov/graves/

Law Suit Society

In a blog I posted yesterday, Armed and Alive, I mentioned two pieces of legislation I hope you will urge your United States Senators and Representatives to support, H.R. 800 and S. 397. These two bills will protect firearms manufacturers and gun shop owners from what I feel are stupid law suits. The manufacturers and dealers have no control over the weapons after they are no longer in their possession. I feel supporting these two bills is even more important now than I did when I posted Armed and Alive. Believe it or not that is not even why I'm writhing this now.

Do you remember Rachel Corrie? She was the student from Evergreen State College, in Olympia, Washington that was ran over by a bulldozer while trying to prevent the demolition of a Palestinian home. Can you guess where I'm going with this yet? The parents of Rachel Corrie have apparently filed a suit against Caterpillar Inc. the company that made the bulldozer. They claim caterpillar violated international and state laws by providing Israeli Defense Forces with specially designed bulldozers knowing that they would be used to demolish homes and endanger lives. "The brutal death of my daughter should never have happened," Corrie's mother said. "We believe Caterpillar and the (Israeli Defense Forces) must be held accountable for their role in the attack." OK, I can agree with part of that, maybe the Israeli Forces should be held accountable for a part of what happened, but they will never get them to admit to any wrong doing, (type The U.S.S. Liberty into a search engine). From what I have heard Rachel had been warned, she should have known the bulldozer was not going to stop. As far as suing Caterpillar goes, I feel this is every bit as wrong as suing firearms manufacturers and gun dealers for the actions of a criminal. I guess things like this will continue to go on as long as we have judges that feel a person should be able to sue a fast food joint for selling hot coffee.

New Network Television Ad Plans

Have you heard about what CBS and ABC are considering? Some new advertisements during the primetime viewing hours. They say they are seriously considering airing condom ads during prime time viewing hours. If they do this other networks will surely follow with more of the same.

I don't watch much television any more, but as I recall when I did I was eating my dinner during primetime viewing hours. I don't know about you but there are some things I'd rather not see during my evening meal, open heart surgery and condom ads on television for starters.

My stomach is not the only thing that would be effected by these ads. Small children are in front of the television during primetime viewing hours. Parents are going to find themselves having to explain what these ads are all about to children that are to young to know.

I'm afraid it will also convince some young teens that they can have worry free sex.

The American Family Association has provided you will a pre-written message that will go out to six major networks. You can edit the message if you so desire, but please go to, http://www.afa.net/Activism/TakeAction.asp?id=158 and send a message urging the networks to drop this idea.

Armed and Alive

I just read another U.S. Newswire release about the Brady Campaign and the Million Mom March. They met today to remember victims of gun violence and to urge citizens to oppose legislation that would protect firearms manufactures and dealers from being sued when a criminal gets one of their weapons through what ever means and uses it to commit a crime. Bells were rang 82 times across the country today to help us remember the 82 people that the anti-Second Amendment groups say are killed every day with firearms. Marsha McCartney, president of the Texas Chapter of The Million Mom March said, "We're ringing bells today to remind people that 82 gun deaths a day in this country are 82 deaths too many." I agree with that, I hate to hear about an innocent crime victim losing their life no matter what type of weapon is used. I still don't see how the Brady Campaign and the Million Moms can possibly justify their efforts to disarm honest citizens by promoting firearms legislation that makes purchasing a firearm to big of a hassle for many people. Some of the 82 people (if that number is right) that lost their lives to armed criminals might be alive today had they been armed themselves, check out, http://www.toptips.com/CrimeClock.htm . This site is constantly being updated. It tracks all types of crime, it also shows every time a firearm is used by a law abiding citizen as a tool for self defense.

Every month the National Rifle Association publishes an article called The Armed Citizen, http://www.nrapublications.org/armed%20citizen/printer_feb.html . This has always been one of my favorite NRA publications. The February issue contains 7 articles about people that refused to be victims.

Let's send the Brady Campaign and the Million Moms a message. Contact your United States Representatives and Senators. Urge them to support H.R. 800 (in the House) and S.397 in the Senate. Protect firearms manufacturers and dealers from law suits that could put them out of business.

God Over Ruled By California State Court

A March 14, 2005, U.S. Newswire release says a California state court has ruled that same sex couples must be allowed to marry. The ruling has been called (not by me) a victory for fairness and equality. The court ruled on two central arguments: "denying gay and lesbian couples the right to marry is impermissible gender discrimination and violates the fundamental right to marry." A 15 year old girl stated that she is so happy that her parents (both female) will now be able to get married. They have been together for over 30 years, the girl says, " It is only right they should be able to get married."

In the past I have read about some other rulings on this issue. The rulings I read before can be found in the King James Version of The Bible. Leviticus 20: 13, If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Leviticus 18: 22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Unlike some court documents I have read those two verses are really easy to understand. Practice a homo sexual life style during your time on earth and spend eternity in Hell.

Later today I think I'll spend some time looking through the Bible again. I'm wondering what God has to say about judges that over rule him in cases like these?

Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for defense, the Global War on Terror, and Tsunami Relief

Some time today (3/15/05) or tomorrow the United States House of Representatives will be voting on the second largest supplemental appropriations bill in the history of the world. If passed it will cost United States tax payers $87.5. Part of this money could be used to build a new baseball stadium for the District of Columbia. I hope you will take a few seconds of your time to contact your Representatives and urge them to vote NO! on H.R. 1268. You can do this by going to, http://capwiz.com/liberty/issues/alert/?alertid=7216431&type=CO . Enter your Zip Code in the Take Action Now box and click Go! to send your message. Brady Campaign Wants To Stop Terrorist From Getting Guns

I just read another article about the Brady Campaign. They want congress to do more to stop terrorist from getting guns. Every thing that I have seen about the Brady Campaign (Handgun Control inc) in the past makes me think their true objective is to disarm all American citizens. If the Brady Campaign wants to protect us from terrorism maybe they should look into how some of the terrorist enter the country. There is some concern about terrorist getting into Mexico first and then walking across our southern border with the other illegals that are crossing the border to take our jobs. If the Brady Campaign wants to help protect us from terrorism they should unit with one of the citizens groups that are attempting to protect the border, check out, www.americanpatrol.com .

The Living Church of God

I'm sure that by now everyone has heard about Terry Ratzmann going into a hotel room in Brookfield, Wis. where a church service was being held by the Living Church of God, he pulled a pistol, shot and killed seven people and then took his own life.

Two of the articles I have read about this tragedy have pretty much described Mr. Ratzmann as a regular joe, a good guy and a caring neighbor. He built his own greenhouse where he grew flowers and vegetables which he gave away to friends and neighbors. The articles say that there was a possibility that his job could be in danger, but they didn't say what he did for a living.

The two articles also say that he had attended Living Church of God services at the hotel for quite some time. Both say that a couple of weeks ago he became upset during a service and walked out before it was over. I started wondering about that so I went to the Living Church of God web page at, http://www.livingcog.org/default.htm . A statement at their homepage says that they are concerned about the tragedy and that they are working with authorities to find out what happened. They have links you can open to find out more about the church, I clicked on Weekly Sermon. This brought up another link I thought might be interesting since he was upset by a service a couple of weeks ago. Sermon Library, when I clicked on this I got a Web Site Not Responding message. It said the site maybe experiencing technical difficulties due to a busy or broken server. I wonder if the church was advised to do this by their attorneys and the authorities, or is the site taking a lot of hits due to the news of the shooting?

One thing I know, this will give the anti-gun groups more ammunition to use in their efforts to disarm all American citizens.

A Female President?

I just read an article that says Condoleezza Rice has denied having any plans on running for president in 2008. She says she never wanted to run for any office and couldn't remember ever running for any student offices when she was in school. The article told about a February poll in which 42 percent of the voters said Rice should run for president. It said that 81 percent of the people would vote for a female for president, and 53 percent thought Hillary Clinton should run.

I'm sure that there are some women that would be every bit as capable of holding the office as a few of our past presidents have been. I would be more than happy to vote for a female candidate if I felt she was a better choice than any of the male candidates running against her. If I had to make a choice between Hillary and Condoleezza there is no doubt in my mind Condoleezza would get my vote. I'm sure that these two ladies name's will be on the list of presidential candidates in 2008. Before I decide who I'll be voting for I'll have to see who some of the so called third party candidates are. I say so called because I'm convinced that the Democratic and Republican parties are one and the same. The 2008 campaign season is going to be an interesting one and now is the time to start watching how the possible candidates are serving their country.

PBS Tax

How do you feel about paying tax's? I don't care for them myself, but I guess they are a necessary evil. I don't feel we should be forced to pay tax's to finance private owned companies or corporations. The liberal Public Broadcast System has been receiving tax dollars to fund their operations since it was created in the 60's. One would think that they would be well enough established to be self supporting by now. Columnist George Will says it is time to stop funding PBS in an article you can find here, http://www.afa.net/petitions/supportpbs/georgewill.pdf . American Family Association Online wants to hear your views on this matter. Please click here, http://www.afa.net/petitions/supportpbs/TakeSurvey.asp to let them know if you feel it is time for PBS to start supporting it's self or if you want to continue supporting it with your hard earned tax dollars.

Judge Killed

I just finished listening to Jeffrey Bennett on-line, while listening I spent a little time in his chat room. While there one of his guest came in late and told about an Atlanta, Georgia Judge being shot and killed. He said that Judge Rowland W. Barnes was known as a good and honest Judge. It shouldn't matter if he was a good an honest judge or a corrupt one, this was a senseless act. I pray the person that did this is captured and punished to the fullest extent of the law soon. The friends, families and loved ones of all the people killed or wounded in this attack will be in my thoughts and prayers.

It might surprise some people to hear a judge referred to as good and honest. Yes there are good and honest judges, just as there are good and honest politicians. I'm sorry to say, but I'm sure you already know there are also corrupt judges and politicians. They are the ones I thought of soon after hearing about the shooting. I have a feeling that somewhere right now there is a corrupt politician figuring out how he can use this to his/her advantage. An anti-Second Amendment politician could see this as an opportunity to pass a new gun control law, maybe even name it after the slain judge, that would get the people to support it. If you think it couldn't be done think back to the Brady Bill. If I'm right and this happens the judge won't be remembered for the good and honest things he did as a judge. He'll be remembered as the reason gun owners lost more of their rights The anti-Second Amendment politician will be remembered for avenging the death of a good and honest judge.

I just don't feel that this is the government our Founding Fathers intended to leave us. It is however what we are going to have until we stop allowing corrupt politicians to pass laws that violate the constitution. The same politicians are the ones that vote to put corrupt judges on the Supreme Court were they can interpret the constitution which a part of was meant to protect us any way they see fit.

Bloggers Could Be Gagged, or Fined

I feel the Internet (Blog Sites) is the only place left where we are still allowed to exercise our right to free speech. Now that could be in danger. Very soon the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) plans to begin restricting Internet political activity. This is the last place to make your voice heard, and if something isn't done soon it could be lost. If the FEC isn't stopped it could become illegal to promote or publicize a political candidate or issue on your blog site. Bloggers could be fined for expressing a political opinion.

Bloggers please contact your United States Representatives and Senators, urge them to take action to protect the Internet from this coming attack by the FEC. Ask your readers to do the same, if the FEC's plan is carried out it will effect their ability to get facts on the candidates before an election.

Could The Death Sentence Save Lives

I just read about 3 teens in Philadelphia that got life sentences for killing a friend to get $500.00. Prosecutor's had sought the death penalty but last weeks Supreme Court ruling banning the exaction of anyone that commits a capitol crime before the age of 18 prevented that.

When I was in high school, around the age of 16 one of my class mates murdered a taxi driver for less then $100.00. He stabbed his victim around 110 times. He was sentenced to life in prison. He was released around twenty years later. He and a friend from prison later robbed and murdered and elderly couple. They were captured tried and sentenced. Both received a lethal injection. Now I'm wondering. If my class mate would have been exacted for his first murder would the elderly couple still have become murder victims? I also wonder if we will be reading about the three teens for Philadelphia again in another twenty years or so?

National Reciprocity Bill

I feel that a person that has proven themself to be a law abiding citizen that is knowledgeable about the safe use of firearms which makes it possible for them to obtain a concealed carry permit in their home state should be allowed to carry their weapon concealed when visiting another state which allows law abiding citizens to do so. Representative John Hostettler (R-IN) plans to introduce legislation soon that would make it possible for someone that has a concealed carry permit in their home state to carry a concealed weapon while visiting another state that allows law abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons. To learn more about this go to, www.gunowners.org , under alerts click on National Concealed Carry Reciprocity. Here you will find an article on this soon to come legislation which contains a link you can use to send a pre-written message to your United States Representative urging him or her to support the bill.

I would like to see this legislation pass but if our elected officials would have simply abided by the United States Constitution it would not be necessary. The Second Amendment had it covered until they started passing unconstitutional laws. The Second Amendment, "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Tax Increase!

I don't think any of us really enjoy paying tax's. I've heard it said that some don't mind tax increases, they say they are needed to keep the country functioning. I have a feeling that some of them aren't working and figure it's the other guy that will be paying more in tax's and they will reap the benefits.

We are facing the largest tax increase in history unless citizens across this nation take action! That's why we signed a crucial petition to stop tax increases. I'd like to ask you to read and sign the petition too. You can do that at, http://www.grassfire.org/59/petition.asp?PID=8261177&NID=1

Poker Face

During the last presidential election there were some people in the movie and music industry that said if Bush was re-elected they would leave the country. I notice they are still here. They kind of reminded me of small children, if I can't have it my way I'll leave. There are some music groups that are made up of true patriots, if they don't like the governments policy they don't threaten to move to a foreign country. They make their political statements through their music, and do a fine job of it. One of these groups is Poker Face, if you like rock & roll and love your country check them out at, www.pokerface.com

Industrial Hemp

I read a U.S. Newswire release that says legislation to bring back industrial hemp farms is gaining momentum in four states. To see the legislation search for California Assembly Bill 1147, New Hampshire-House Bill 55-FN-A, North Dakota-House Bill 1492 or Oregon- Senate Bill 294. You can read the release at, http://releases.newswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=43939 .

The release doesn't mention the fact that some of our large news paper chains have money invested in or own pulp mills that use tree pulp to manufacture the paper they use. If this legislation is passed it is going to cut into their profits. I have a feeling that supporters of the legislation could be facing a pretty tough up hill battle.

China's Constitution

I was reading some foreign news papers tonight when I ran across something I'd never read or thought of before, China's Constitution. You can find it at, http://english1.peopledaily.com.cn/constitution/constitution.html . I found something I thought was interesting, or I should say surprising in their constitution, " Chapter Two The Fundamental Rights And Duties Of Citizens Article 36. Citizens of the People's Republic of China enjoy freedom of religious belief." I was surprised by this because I subscribe to The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) magazine and on-line news letters. VOM articles cover Christian persecution world wide. In just about every issue of the magazine there is an article about Christian persecution in the People's Republic of China. You can get a free subscription to VOM Magazine and sign up for their e-news letters at, www.persecution.com .

I don't really know why that surprised me, here in the United States the First Amendment to our constitution says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." That took effect in1791 but today children are not allowed to hold prayer meetings on school property.

2008 Presidential Candidates

I just read an Associated Press article that tells about some of Condoleezza Rice's accomplishment since she became Secretary Of State. It seems to me that we are hearing a lot about Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton lately. I think the Democrats and the Republicans are both promoting their 2008 presidential candidates. We should be paying close attention to these two ladies between now and the next campaign season. As far as I'm concerned the next campaign season begins the day after the current president is elected. Since we have never had a female or a black president I'm thinking the next campaign season could become quite interesting.

Correction!

I've been misinformed, and then I passed the misinformation on to you. I read an article about the Democrats in Congress that want to ban a pistol. See 'Democrats Want to Ban One Type of Gun, March 4, 2005". Now I find out that these two bills, S. 397 , and H.R. 800 are both bills that will protect firearms manufacturers from law suits Please forgive me for the mistake. You can read the two bills at, http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.html

Democrats Want to Ban One Type of Gun

A CNSNews.com article By Susan Jones (Democrats Want to Ban 'Cop-Killer' Gun) that was posted at www.gopusa.com tells about a bill that Democrats have introduced in Congress (H.R. 800/S. 397) which singles out one type of firearm they want banned. If passed the bill will make it illegal for anyone other than the police or military officials to possess a Fabrique Nationale (FN) Five-seveN pistol. They say their reason for introducing the bill is because the pistol can fire armor piercing ammunition, they are calling it a "cop killing gun." The Brady Campaign says they bought one of the pistols and some 5.7 ammunition, when they test fired it the round penetrated a protective vest. You can do that with just about any rifle ammunition, and I'm sure they know that. I have a feeling that the real plan isn't to ban one type of pistol and stop there. The Democrats are upset because the assault weapons ban was not reinstated, and they want it back in place. H.R. 800 and S. 397 are the starting blocks, if this legislation is passed these anti-Second Amendment legislators will call for one more ban, then another and another. Sooner or later your hunting rifle will be on their hit list. Please contact your United States Representatives and Senators and urge them to oppose H.R. 800 and S. 397.

Quiz

I have a short quiz I'd like you to take, it shouldn't take long, there are only ten easy questions. You can't pass or fail, it's something to get you thinking later.

(1) Are we losing our private property rights in the United States?

(2) Does the United States have a heavy progressive income tax?

(3) Are we losing our rights of inheritance?

(4) Can the property of emigrants and rebels be confiscated in the United States?

(5) Does the United States have a central bank?

(6) Does the United States government control communication and transportation?

(7) Does the United States government own factories and farms?

(8) Does the United States government control labor?

(9) Would you find corporate farms or regional planning in the United States?

(10) In the United States is there an opportunity for all children to get a free education at government controlled schools?

Did you answer yes to any of those questions? Do you know where the questions came from? I got the idea for the quiz from the Communist Manifesto (The 10 Planks of Communism). One of my favorite books " The Citizens Rule Book" refers to the Communist Manifesto as, "a misguided philosophy, which teaches the Citizens to give up their rights for the sake of the "common good," but it always ends in a police state." We are now told that Communism is dead. I don't believe that it is. I feel that Communism is alive and doing well right here in the United States.

If you'd like to read The Citizens Rule Book on-line you can find it at, http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/7006/rulebook.html#anchor6 I feel it should be on everyone's must read list.

Remove The Gag, Support H.R. 235

There are some people in the country that would like to be able to turn to their minister when making decisions on who to vote for during elections. They find it difficult to decide which side is right on issues like gay marriage. Some of their ministers would like to be able to stand at the pulpit and voice their views on these things, but they have been gagged by the federal government. They are afraid that if they speak up their church will lose it's tax-exempt status. There is a bill in the United States House that would remove that gag, H.R.235. Please contact your United States representatives and ask them to support H.R. 235. There are a lot of well informed patriotic religious leaders in our country. They should be able to speak out without fear.

POW/MIA

One day last week one of our Grand Daughters was over. While she was here she was looking at some of the things I have posted here. I don't think she is the average twelve year old, she has been interested in government policy since she was about eight years old. She said you need to put something about POW's and MIA's on there, that has become a hot spot with her. I should have ask her to write something for me, she knows more about the issue than I do.

What I can tell you is every time the United States has entered into a conflict (War) it has left some of it's soldiers behind unaccounted for. The United States government tells their families that they were killed and their bodies were not recovered. The government has no hard evidence to prove this. Every year for the past few years I have read articles about South Korean soldiers that were captured and held prisoner by North Korea for over 50 years escaping and making their way home. If South Korean soldiers can survive in North Korean prisons for that long why are we to believe American soldiers couldn't do the same thing. There are several organizations that are trying to get some believable answers to questions the families of our missing soldiers have been asking for years. One of them has it's headquarters in Skidmore, Missouri, I have had the opportunity to meet with them several times in the past. I pray you will take a little time to visit their site at, www.pownetwork.org .

Feinstein Wants To Reinstate Gun Ban

California Senator Dianne Feinstein is fighting to get the Assault Weapons Ban reinstated. As far as I know in the ten years that it was on the books it did little to nothing to prevent violence. The only thing it did was make it difficult, or impossible to get 19 weapons. You could still get other weapons that had the same capabilities, they just had a different name. I have a feeling that if a new ban is passed it will ban more than the 19 weapons covered by the old one. Chances are that the new ban wouldn't expire in ten years either. I think the original ban did just what it was meant to do, expire after ten years. Then when they try to pass a new one gun owners would feel they had nothing to worry about, it would be just like the first ban. I feel this new ban will have more teeth and you could get bit. Don't sit back and wait. Contact your legislators now and urge them to oppose Feinstein's or any other anti-gunner's efforts to pass another gun ban. You can read an article about Feinstein's efforts at, http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2005/02/26/MNGGLBHDAN1.DTL

The Best Book Ever Written

I just read a Meridian Magazine (www.meridianmagazine.com) article By Marilyn Green Faulkner about what I feel is the best book that was ever written. This book is so popular that it has been published in about every language known to man. This is also a very controversial book, it has been banned in our public schools. You can read the article at, http://www.ldsmag/bestbooks/050228bible2print.html . After you read the article I would suggest you get a copy of this book for yourself if you haven't already done so. I think you will find that taking just a little time out of each day to read from it will make you feel much better.
