Armed and Alive

I just read another U.S. Newswire release about the Brady Campaign and the Million Mom March. They met today to remember victims of gun violence and to urge citizens to oppose legislation that would protect firearms manufactures and dealers from being sued when a criminal gets one of their weapons through what ever means and uses it to commit a crime. Bells were rang 82 times across the country today to help us remember the 82 people that the anti-Second Amendment groups say are killed every day with firearms. Marsha McCartney, president of the Texas Chapter of The Million Mom March said, "We're ringing bells today to remind people that 82 gun deaths a day in this country are 82 deaths too many." I agree with that, I hate to hear about an innocent crime victim losing their life no matter what type of weapon is used. I still don't see how the Brady Campaign and the Million Moms can possibly justify their efforts to disarm honest citizens by promoting firearms legislation that makes purchasing a firearm to big of a hassle for many people. Some of the 82 people (if that number is right) that lost their lives to armed criminals might be alive today had they been armed themselves, check out, http://www.toptips.com/CrimeClock.htm . This site is constantly being updated. It tracks all types of crime, it also shows every time a firearm is used by a law abiding citizen as a tool for self defense.

Every month the National Rifle Association publishes an article called The Armed Citizen, http://www.nrapublications.org/armed%20citizen/printer_feb.html . This has always been one of my favorite NRA publications. The February issue contains 7 articles about people that refused to be victims.

Let's send the Brady Campaign and the Million Moms a message. Contact your United States Representatives and Senators. Urge them to support H.R. 800 (in the House) and S.397 in the Senate. Protect firearms manufacturers and dealers from law suits that could put them out of business.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
