Protect Our Soldiers From Predatory Lenders

I just received a monthly news letter from my United States Representative, Sam Graves (R-MO.). This month Sam talks about predatory lenders that might charge up to 300% in interest rates. Rep. Graves says some of these lending companies seem to be targeting our soldiers and their families. It's sad to think that a company would take advantage of a family that is in a stressful situation of any kind. I can't think of any thing that would be more stressful than having a family member in a foreign country fighting for their country. Rep. Graves says," I think we can do better for our troops. I have introduced legislation that caps the Annual Percentage Rate that these companies can charge soldiers and their families. You can still lend soldiers money, but you cannot charge 300%. This bill would limit those companies that seek to target our troops."

From time to time you hear someone say that even if you don't support the war you should support our troops. If you have wondered how you can do that here is your chance. Contact your United States Representative and urge him or her to support Rep. Graves efforts to protect our soldiers from predatory lenders.

Rep. Graves failed to mention a bill number when he sent out the news letter. If you do want to get involved in this issue you can contact him for more information through his web site at, http://www.house.gov/graves/ .

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
