Constitution Week 2008
Today September 17, 2008 is the first day of Constitution Week (Click on Home after page opens) ( 9/17-9/23 ). A week long commemoration of one of our most important documents, the other one is the Bible (IMO). The week is meant to emphasize citizens responsibilities for protecting and defending our Constitution and preserving it for posterity. This week we should remind people that the Constitution is the basis of our great heritage and the foundation of our way of life. We should study and remind others to study the events that led up to the framing of our Constitution. If there are young people in the home getting them involved in this weeks celebration is very important. They are our country's' future. Chuck Baldwin mentions them in his 2008 salute to our Constitution. "On this Constitution Day of 2008, may this generation of Americans live up to its responsibility to valiantly bequeath to our posterity the same legacy of freedom that was so bravely and miraculously bequeathed to us. For the sake of freedom, for the love of our children, and for the safety and security of our republic, may each of us determine for ourselves--and commit to Almighty God--to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." (Continue Reading). Let's leave the television set's turned off for about an hour each night this week and use the time to study the Constitution.
God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

In today's American Government class, my lesson plan included a segment on Constitution Week.
One of the students actually knew in advance that yesterday was Constitution Day! I was very pleased to have at least one student aware of the significance of the day. Of course, by the end of the class period, I made sure that all left with that knowledge in their heads.
Over the course of this school term, I'm hoping to bring to all the students in the class a genuine love of our great Constitution this year. And may they truly appreciate the wisdom of our Founders!
Yes "the basis of our great heritage and the foundation of our way of life" and, as the preamble of 1787 embodies priciples associated with the foundation of the union, it becomes most important in relation to aspects of the greatest democracy of all - America even today.
It is hoped that your education system pays due respect to constitution week, if only for the appreciation of liberty. Fine posting David ...
Very fine posting, David...thanks for the important reminder.
I'm starting a class at my church's preschool and will be teaching the 3-4 yr olds the Pledge of Allegiance, American songs and stories for 1/2 hr a week..SOMEHOW I'll get in the word CONSTITUTION! They're a bit young to really understand, but I'll get something to stick before those kindergartens in public schools teach them how rotten America is!! (Smile)
It's very effortless to discover any topic on the web as compared to books, as I found this post at this site.
