Question Of The Week, 8/24/08

Good morning. Yesterdays papers all across the country pretty much ran the same article which answered a question many folks had been asking. "WASHINGTON (AP) _ Barack Obama named Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware as his vice presidential running mate early Saturday, balancing his ticket with a seasoned congressional veteran well-versed in foreign policy and defense issues." (Continue Reading). This weeks Question Of The Week is. Since Obama's campaign has been all about "change" do you suppose that some Democrats/Obama supporters might have felt that they had been duped when he announced he had selected a running mate that has been a member of the United States Senate for the past 36 years?

I'll post my answer in the Comment Section Tuesday morning.

Most likely Biden wasn't Obama's choice. Would suspect the Dems power brokers thought Obama needs some balance in experience, foreigh policy and political savvy, thus Biden was selected. Senator Biden carries a ton of baggage around with him, so to the Dems, he looks like the perfect veep.

Before Obama gave Biden the title of "Vice President," he gave him the title of "President." LOL.

In answer to your QOTW, Obama supporters probably won't see the inconsistency. After all, they've been blinded by the light of a "rock star."

I want to thank you for stopping by to answer this weeks question, " Since Obama's campaign has been all about "change" do you suppose that some Democrats/Obama supporters might have felt that they had been duped when he announced he had selected a running mate that has been a member of the United States Senate for the past 36 years?" I'am going to say yes I do think some of them feel that they'd been duped. In fact I've heard/read that some are upset about his decision. If I was an Obama supporter I would be. I hope he does more to let his supporters see who/what he really is between now and November. Maybe he will do more to keep himself out of office than anyone else could.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

I do think it undermines that change argument somewhat but not only this, Obama can no longer claim McCain is older than the earth, given that his chosen a VP who is just 6 years younger than McCain.
