Veterans Day, 2005
Good morning. Before this day is over I hope you will get the chance to thank someone that has served in the Army, the USMC, the Air Force, the Navy or the Coast Guard. These brave men and women have laid their lives on the line for each of us. This would be a great time to Welcome each of them home and thank them for their efforts. Some time today I'll be stopping by to visit the U.S.S. South Dakota. One of my Uncles (That I never got to meet ) served on her during World War Two If you are interested in seeing a photo of him go to Photo Page 3, scroll to the sixth row down. My Uncle Richard L.Goforth is second from the left. My last two post were also about Veterans and Veterans Day that should show you how I feel about Veterans Day and the special people we are honoring and remembering today.
God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

David,
I see that you thanked my friend Mustang over at Social Sense. Thank you. It's so important to thank a veteran today.
It is very important to thank our veterans and think of those that fight for us today. And although the initial story about the Veterans Hearings concerns me, I hate to pass judgement until I know the whole story.
Although we have lost too many lives during this war, I have proud of the fact that relative to other wars that have been fought, relatively low loss of life has been realized. And, if if wasn't for the fact that our soldiers are performing "surgical strikes" and trying to minimalize damage to Iraq, the number would be much lower. So I hope everyone understands just how hard these men and women work and just how different fighting in today's world is.
I read USS South Dakota in Wikipedia. The crews of the ship are true heroes!
