Planning A September Vacation?

I know September is to far away to be thinking about now but I want to tell you about something my family and I do every September. We go to Skidmore, Missouri's Freedom Fest. It is held on the weekend after Labor Day, this year that will be the 9th, 10th and 11th. Skidmore's Freedom Fest is held to honor Veterans of all wars. I know a lot of you opposed our(oil) war's with Iraq and a lot of people were opposed to our war with Vietnam. No matter how you feel about the war I feel you should show respect to the men and women that choose to serve their country. Skidmore gives you a chance to meet a large number of veterans and show them that you do care about them. If your looking for something to do this September check out, http://www.skidmorefreedomfest.com/ The link tells about this years speaker list and some of the other events and entertainment. I always look forward to hearing Col. Earl Hopper and his wife Patty speak. Col. Hopper is a three war veteran, his son was shot down over Vietnam and is still missing. Our 13 year old Grand Daughter wears a POW/MIA bracelet with Earl Hopper Jr.'s name on it. She has been wearing it since she was 8 years old, she is very close to the Hopper family. If you do decide to attend I'm sure it will be something you will never forget.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

Refreshing to log onto a site, where the author is more concerned with what's going on in the world and with other people. Many sites, including my own sometimes, are a place to moan about all that is wrong with the trivialities of ones own meagre existence.
Well done!

Our Veterans are a symbol of what makes our nation great, and we must never forget all they have done to ensure our freedom.
