Bill Grants Amnesty To 12 Million Illegals!!

I got an e-mail alert from Citizens Lobby (www.citizenslobby.com) that tells about legislation that has been introduced by Senator's John McCain and Ted Kennedy that would grant permanent legal status to 10 to 12 million illegal aliens plus bring in 400,000 new foreign guest workers every year under the H-5A visa program. The illegals and new guest workers will have to pay fines ranging from $500 to $1,000, but they will be allowed to bring their children and spouses into the country. You can read the bill, S. 1033 at, http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.html . The House version, H.R. 2330 is sponsored by Representative's Jim Kolbe (R-AZ) and Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) The legislation is titled, "The Secure America & Orderly Immigration Act Of 2005". For some reason I don't see how granting amnesty to illegal aliens is going to secure America. You can sign the Citizens Lobby petition to stop amnesty by going to, http://www.citizenslobby.com/petitions.htm . I would like to ask you to contact your elected officials, http://www.citizenslobby.com/congress.htm and urge them to oppose this amnesty granting legislation. Tell them that if they want to secure America they need to put troops on our borders.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

I just read a real good William Grigg column on amnesty that mentions this legislation. You can read it at, http://www.stoptheftaa.org/artman/publish/article_390.shtml .

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

Is there anything in that bill that steps up border security? Because if so, it could be another compromise bill. Bush wants really secure borders and everyone wants to see illegal immigration restricted. But you just can't up and kick out all of the illegal immigrants in this country, because (unfortunately) who would be left to do the menial tasks?

I would love to see amnesty offered, even with minor fines or penalties, and then a major increase in border restrictions and security. I think any politically- and practially-minded liberal would agree with me on that.

The solution is in simplifying our immigration laws.

Right now, it is easier to sneak into a foreign country, cross a desert, and blend into our society for year -- or decades -- than it is to come to the US legally.

That should say something right there. Our immigration laws are designed to make life MORE difficult for LEGAL aliens than illegal ones.

And I'm not simply talking about Latin Americans. Europeans complain about this all the time -- many of them here working for international corporations.

The problem of illegal immigration can't be fixed unless the whole system is overhauled.

Until then, you're going to see Congress simply "reset the counter" with bills like this. The US simply does not have the resources -- or money -- to round up and deport 12 million people.

I thought, the term alien is not limited to natural humans because what are colloquially called foreign corporations are technically called alien corporations
