Question Of The Week, 7/10/05

I hope you will continue to pray for the victims of the terrorist attack that took place in London this past Thursday. This weeks question is, Do you think there will be another terrorist attack in United States in the near future? I will post my answer in the comment section Monday morning.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

Unfortunately, David, yes, I'm afraid we will be hit again, and again, and again. Our Government has failed to seal our borders, but instead, pats down little old ladies at our airports, takes away the civil liberties of Americans, etc.; and tells us this is protection.

At this point, the damage might have already been done. The enemy may already be planted firmly within. Does this mean we shouldn't bother to seal our borders now? No. It is highly recommended that we do so, but at this point, we MUST expect to be hit.

GTL is right on it. Unless we fix the border problem, we will be hit again. This is a spiritual fight as much as a physical one. What we are fighting is nothing less than pure evil. Prayer is THE most powerful weapon we have against evil. Continue to pray.

It took the Atom Bomb being used on Japan, to end WWII in the Pacific. If we hadn't used the bomb we might still be fighting a guerilla war in several places with the sucicide bombers and vicous soldiers who would sacrifice their life for their Emperor. The kamakazi pilots were every bit as brainwashed and determined as the radical islamists we are fighting today.
As to the question of the day. I think the day is approaching for an attempt at mass murder by the radical islamists, BUT, I think it will upset and stopped before it unfolds, and the perps will be captured and brought to justice. They will be tried in a military court, for they would be captured in an act of war. The ACLU will once again take the side of America's enemies, and people will finally see who our real enemy is in America. It will take decades to flush out the 'sleeper cells" again we will have to fight the ACLU.
As to the borders, we all know that Democrats and Republicans are alike on this one thing.....they will not face the problem of illegal aliens roaming in our nation by the millions. BUT, the people will. Then again the ACLU will demand that the concerned citizens be punished and the perps go free. GO FIGURE.

We can fight terrorism in any country we want, but until we fix the (illegal) immigration problem, our country can be attacked at any given point.

We have illegals feeding off of our economy, taking jobs and stealing welfare checks......to the Americans who need those things, isn't that like an attack?

Terrorism doesn't always mean a physical attack, death or destruction.

But to get back to your point, yes, I feel we'll be attacked, once again. We have no border security. bin Laden's probably with Elvis, Tupac and Billy The Kid in New Mexico, sipping drinks and eating tacos. Who knows, right? Anyone can be here.

I think I'll try and steer away from any partisan comments and just answer the question objectively to the best of my ability.

I do think that Americans--and any other potential western ally--faces a large threat from terrorist attacks. And the broadness of David's question also leaves open the possibility of domestic terrorism. We have been fortunate to really have no domestic attacks since the Oklahoma City bombing, but I would never rule out the dangers of crazed Americans responding by attacking Americans.

As for the near future, I honestly don't know. Frankly, I don't want to predict anything--I'd rather leave that up to the experts.

What I do know is that we need a real international strategy to fight radical Islamic fundamentalist terror. That strategy shouldn't involved attacking states because terrorist are non-state actors. The real war has to be fought on the cultural level and the discursive level. Peace loving Muslims must condemn the attacks of those who abuse their faith to kill others. And Americans and westerners must not respond by being bigots. Show them what true democracy looks like and how it can even accomodate them if they give it a chance. And don't force it on them, either.

Life as we knew it changed on September 11, 2001. United States citizens starting living in fear. People were afraid they could be attacked at any time. Causing us to live in fear is a type of attack. Before the recent attacks took place in London I had been thinking we were due for another attack. I'm sure there will be another on on our soil. It might be a while now. They will let us relax (we're still thinking about London) and start feeling more secure.I hope you will contact your elected officials and urge them to do something to secure our borders and stop potential terrorist from entering the country.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
