Question Of The Week, 7/30/06

Good morning. I keep trying to go to all my regular sources to come up with an idea for this weeks question, but something keeps coming back to mind before I can even finish reading an article. Kind of like that last song you heard before you turned off the radio, it just stays with you. So I guess your opinion must be important enough to me to be this weeks Question Of The Week. The 2008 Presidential Election isn't really that far off. We've all seen articles telling who may or may not be running. Now it is up to you to pick the Dream Team for the party of your choice for 2008. Who would you like to see become our next President and Vice President? It doesn't matter if they are running or not just, "who would you like to see"?

I'll post my answer in the Comment Section Monday night.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

Of course George Phillies as the President. I also have my opinion as Vice President, but I don't think I should give my opinion at this time. Perhaps John Stossel.

I think the Phillies campaign is far more organized than any other campaign at this time(including the Democrats and Republicans). Everyone reading this should click my name and visit the Phillies campaign website and donate or volunteer.

I usually vote Democrat so I would have to say Reid at this point.

However, I would love to see Chuck Hagel.

I can't come up with any V.P. Candidates. Sorry.

Edwards or Gore..perhaps both as a team.

I usually vote Democratic, but I can't think of anyone who can win in 2008. Russ Feingold goes against the party "leaders" and stands up for what he believes in. Consequently he doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell.

I think the Democrats have a good chance of capturing the House this November, so that should balance things out a little. But for the White House, I think a moderate (or at least honest) Republican is the best hope. Chuck Hagel is too far to the right for me, but he seems straightforward and stand-up. Giuliani showed great presence and leadership after 9/11 (in contrast to President Asleep-At-The-Wheel) and he's moderate on social issues.

So, Dream Candidate: Feingold. Favorites among those who have a chance: Hagel and Giuliani.

O.K. I know the elections don't work like this but I'd like to see a knock down drag out fight for president with the loser getting to be vice president. And who should enter the ring: Condolesa Rice vs. Hillary Clinton. It's about time we had a woman in charge of the White House. This is the twenty-first century after all.

Same as 1944...FDR and Harry Truman. Seriously, it's a hard question for me to answer. I don't have names or faces, but I would like to see a third party with real appeal to common sense nominate someone worth voting for.

Having to hold my nose to vote for the lesser of the offensive is getting old.

First I want to thank everyone for stopping by to answer this weeks question. Good answers, one really stood out. Mark, I agree, it is about time to put a woman in the White House, but I don't think I could support Condolesa Rice or Hillary Clinton. I have a feeling that Hillary will run. I've all ready got my anti-Hillary shirt just waiting for her to make an official announcement. I couldn't think of a woman I would support at this time so I went with two men. It had nothing to do with a political party, as a rule I vote Third Party/Independent. There are two Rep. Representatives that I agree with on a lot of issues. I don't think I ever agree with a politician (or my wife) 100% of the time. I can't really say which one I'd like to see have a chance to become our next President and which one I'd want for Vice President. But, my two choices would be. Representatives Ron Paul, R-Texas (http://www.house.gov/paul/) and Thomas Tancredo, R- Colorado (http://tancredo.house.gov/). No matter who is elected I hope they will support the United States Constitution 100% of the time.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

I missed it, too... but I'm still weighing in.

I like a Feingold/Giulianni ticket... ;-)

Seriously.

There certainly are some odd combinations here...Paul and Tancredo? I respect Ron Paul; Tom Tancredo is an ass.

As for Feingold/Giuliani--??? They aren't even in the same party. As a New Yorker, I can tell you Giuliani is an asshole. Feingold I could support.
