Holding Iraq Accountable

I just read a U.S. Newswire release about American POW's that had won a judgment against Iraq for the way they were treated while being held as POW's during the Gulf War. A court of appeals later erased their judgment. The former POW's and their families have now petitioned the Supreme Court to hear their case.

I thought this was pretty interesting since just a few days ago President Bush issued a proclamation making April 9, 2005 National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day. I guess the court of appeals didn't agree with President Bush when he told how he felt about all former POW's. I pray the Supreme Court Justices will rule in favor of the POW's. I agree with President Bush, we should honor and respect the men and women that were captured and held prisoner while serving their country. I feel that every day should be Former POW Recognition Day.

If you haven't read President Bush's National Former POW Recognition Day Proclamation you can scroll down to a message I posted on April 2, 2005, Proclamation.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
