I stopped by the Constitution Party's site tonight to see if they had posted anything lately. I have a feeling that their candidate for the upcoming presidential election will be Virgil Goode a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Virginia's 5th district.

While I was at the Constitution Party site I came across an article by Phyllis Schlafly Eagle Forum President that reminded me of a tee shirt an old friend once had. The writing on the shirt has even more meaning today than it did when he wore the shirt in the 90's. In bold red print it read, "Every Thing Is Made In China." Smaller red print below that said, "Including Your Future." The Schlafly article,"China Celebrates Outwitting Us in the WTO" mentions China's vaccine-producing companies that boast of their annual production capacity of nearly one billion doses and ask a frightening question. "Are parents willing to inject their kids with Chinese vaccines?" (Continue Reading) I for one pray that they are not.China is not our friend.

If we don't find a leader that can get our country back on track soon there won't be much of a future for those that come after us. Virgil Goode just might be the man we're looking for.

Senate Bill 1973 – Gun Trafficking Prevention Act of 2012

I hadn't heard of Senate Bill 1973 – Gun Trafficking Prevention Act of 2012 until this evening. Because of the bills name, Gun Trafficking Prevention Act of 2012 I thought maybe it was something to prevent something like Operation Fast & Furious from ever happening again. Seeing the names Mrs. GILLIBRAND, Mr. SCHUMER, Mr. LAUTENBERG, and Mr.
KERRY on the bill should have told me there was more to the bill than that.

After I started reading S.B. 1973 I got the feeling that it could be something to be used against the licensed firearms dealers that the BATF duped into helping them with Operation Fast & Furious now that they (the BATF) might need to lock them (the firearms dealers) away to shut them up.

The bill (if passed) will clearly give more power to the Attorney General and the BATF. The same folks that brought us Operation Fast & Furious (a criminal operation)which cost God only knows how many innocent lives. Something needs to be done to stop anything like Fast & Furious from ever happening again but S.B. 1973 isn't it. Please contact your United States Senators and urge them to oppose S.B. 1973.

One year ago today we lost a great American patriot. One that I would have been honored to have met in person had I got the chance. Mr.Aaron Zelman,
March 4, 1946 – December 21, 2010. I'm sure he is missed by his family and friends, the people he worked with at JPFO (JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP), it's members and supporters.Lets not spend today mourning his passing. Missouri River Floods

I don't watch a lot of TV so I don't know if the floods along the Missouri River have made the national news or not. The Corp of Engineers have been releasing record amounts of water from dams on the Missouri up in South Dakota. Many towns down river have been evacuated. A lot of rich farm land is now under water. That could effect you when you stop into your local grocery store in the future. Two nuclear power plants in Nebraska are now islands. Gov. Jay Nixon has made arrangements to get some federal tax dollars to help us here in Missouri ( Continue Reading ). We've been told that this will be worse than the flood of 1993. In 1993 things were pretty much back to normal in a couple of weeks. This time we are told it could be late August or early September before the water recedes.

A lot of folks here in Missouri feel this was an act of stupidity instead of an act of God. South Dakota gets a lot of money from recreational boaters and fishermen. The Corp of Engineers cuts the river flow back to make them happy. When the spring snow melt and rains come along and reservoirs become dangerously high the flow is cranked up. It seems like they give little or no thought to what effect this will have on the folks that live and work down river.

If you'd like to keep up with whats going on along the Missouri at least two news papers have added Flood of 2011 news categories to their on-line sites. Check out, the St. Joseph News-Press or the Sioux City Journal I would assume other papers have done the same.

Fathers Day 2011

Jefferson "Jeff" Taylor

I'm pretty sure it would be safe to say you have read about the tornado that destroyed a good deal of Joplin, Missouri. You might not have heard about Jefferson "Jeff" Taylor. He didn't live in Joplin and he wasn't there when the tornado hit. He was a Riverside, Missouri Police Officer that volunteered to go to Joplin and help the tornado victims.He was struck by lightning while helping with rescues.(Continue Reading) If there is a list of Missouri's heroes somewhere I feel Jefferson "Jeff" Taylor's name should be added to that list.

Memorial Day Weekend 2011

Is it just me or have a lot of folks forgotten what Memorial Day was meant to be? It seems to me that a lot of them feel it's a time to throw some meat on the fire and have a few beers with their friends. Chances are we will have a cookout some time this weekend but most of the time will be spent thinking about those that have paid for our freedom with their lives.

My Mothers Brother, Richard L. Goforth (An Uncle I never got a chance to meet) was killed in action on June, 19, 1944 while serving on the U.S.S. South Dakota BB-57. I heard from one of her crew members that she was the first United States Ship to fire on Japans mainland during WW II. If my count isn't off 87 men lost their lives whilhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gife serving aboard the
USS South Dakota between 1942 and 1945. That is just a few of the list of thousands that have gave their lives protecting the freedoms we have today. Obama Has Changed His Position

We've all heard Obama gave the order for the Navy Seals to take out the worlds best known terrorist,Osama Bin Laden. That sure gave Obama's approval ratting a much needed boost. I'm sure all of us could find someone that would be willing to argue about when, where and how Bin Laden died. Some might even say he is not dead at all. If Bin Laden isn't dead why would Obama say he is? I'm sure these debates will continue for quite some time even after Bin Laden's death is no longer headline news. I have a feeling that most folks would get a great feeling of relief knowing he was dead no matter how he died.

The headlines that jumped out and smacked me this morning were,Under pressure on gas prices,Obama shifts on domestic drilling,and,Cheers, jeers for Obama’s drilling push. Drill baby drill, Obama's bringing the gas prices down! That sounds a lot better than that mileage tax Obama was supporting earlier this week. I wouldn't count on those lower gas prices just yet. I have a strange feeling that by the time the Interior Department testing is all over and done with ( God only knows how long that could take) there will be a lot of new reasons (to go along with the old ones) for not drilling. Who knows, by the time the test results are in, and studied carefully Obama could be into his second term. Being the man that did Osama in and getting us headed towards lower gas prices is sure to get him re-elected. I'm afraid he still has a lot to do to get my vote.

I'm thinking that would be the perfect time to contact your elected officials to urge them to support S.1492 and H.R. 3286, the Alzheimer's Breakthrough Act of 2009. If passed this legislation will help provide researchers with the funds they need to find new and better treatments and possibly a cure for Alzheimer's Disease.

POW/MIA Recognition Day 2009

The inscription on the stainless steel bracelet around my right wrist reads," GYSGT GALEN F HUMPHREY USMC 02-01-66 NVN/OW . When I first decided I wanted a POW/MIA bracelet I told the person that was making them I wanted one with the name of someone from the Saint Joseph, Missouri area on it. GYSGT Galen F. Humphrey (Please read entire bio) was the only member of the United States military that was left behind/unaccounted for at the end of our war with Vietnam that came from Saint Joseph. The bracelet will stay around my wrist until GYSGT Galen F. Humphrey is accounted for. It reminds me of his efforts and sacrifice. Today I hope you will take the time to think about the price GYSGT Galen F. Humphrey and a countless number of other POW/MIA's from all wars paid for our freedom. Say a prayer for them and the families they left behind.

Constitution Day 2009

Tomorrow will be September 17, 2009, or Constitution Day 2009. A holiday that deserves a lot more attention than it gets. Most folks don't celebrate it. Chances are they don't even know about it. I don't know, do K-Mart and Wal-Mart run Constitution Day specials? I doubt that very much.

If you don't do anything else to celebrate the day at least take a little time to read the United States Constitution. It's not long or hard to understand. If you have school age children have them read it with you. Starting this year make reading the Constitution together on September 17th a family tradition.

Letter To The Editor

I wonder if the title my local paper gave my letter to the editor means someone on the editorial staff sees the importance of passing both S. 1942 and H.R. 3286 the Alzheimer's Breakthrough Act of 2009. If that is the case I'd count writing that letter as a battle won. The problem is one battle doesn't decide the outcome of any war. More letters to our elected officials urging them to support the Alzheimer's Breakthrough Act of 2009 are needed. If you haven't contacted your United States Senators and Representatives about this matter would you please do so now? If you have contacted your elected officials take the next step. A letter to the editor of your local paper will let the folks in your area know where you and your elected officials stand on this important issue. If someone develops Alzheimer's every seventy seconds I'm thinking just about all of us have been touched by this devastating disease. So getting public support for this legislation should be fairly easy.

September 11, 2001 is one of the dates that I sure everyone that was over the age of ten at the time will remember in detail for many years to come.

As a rule Sue would have been in the living room watching the morning news on TV. I usually had the short wave on while reading some of my favorite newspapers on-line. For some reason I had not turned the radio on that morning and Sue was going through the kitchen cabinets getting ready for a trip to the grocery store. I was reading a very strange article in the London Telegraph. I was sure they were treating a FEMA drill as if it were real. The article said one of the towers at the World Trade Center had been hit by a jet liner. I felt like I was reading a new version of War Of The Worlds. Sue handed me the phone as she told me it was my Step-Daughter. There was no hello, she screamed "Are you watching this shit?". Before I could tell her we didn't have the TV or radio on she said "Oh my God the second tower has been hit"! At that point I realized this is not a drill. When I turned back to the computer screen the article I'd been reading had been updated. I remember the numb feeling I had as I sat there looking at a photo of the World Trade Center in ruins. The numbness was replaced by feelings of anger, sorrow and grief. The rest of the day was spent watching news broadcasts on TV, listening on the short wave and reading updates on the computer.

Before that day I had told people that I knew that one day there would be a terrorist attack on United States soil. I was thinking along the lines of a school or shopping center bombing. I had not thought of anything as devastating as that day turned out to be. I pray nothing like that ever happens again but I'm afraid it will.

I hope you'll take some time today to remember the innocent victims that lost their lives that day. Say a prayer for them and ask God to continue to watch over the friends, families and loved ones they left behind.

I'm glad we don't have any school age children. If we did I'd have to keep them home from school next Tuesday, September 8, 2009 to prevent them from being sucked into the Obama Youth Movement. I'm thinking this was tried in Germany years ago, we all know how that turned out. I was not surprised to learn that some felt it was wrong for George H. W. Bush (Who I opposed on most issues) to address school children in 1991 but now they feel it is great that Obama (Who I've opposed on all issues) wants to. I think I'm smelling a little bit of a double standard here.

Census Day is April 1, 2010.

It's hard to believe that it's been almost ten years since the Census Bureau sent us the long form to find out just how many folks live in the United States. Since we couldn't see what rather we had indoor plumbing or not had to do with the number of people living in our home many of the questions on our form were left blank. Some got Does Not Apply (DNA) for an answer. The News-Press article that reminded me of the fact that it is almost that time again said, "The response rate proves telling. While the basic form most residents get (just 17 percent get the more detailed long form) includes only 10 questions this year, many find the inquisitor a problem." (Continue Reading) I wouldn't have such a problem if the questions were a little more relevant.
I have no problem telling the the number and gender of people living here. I can except them asking the race/nationality of each person. Anything other than that is a bit more than they need to get an accurate head count.

Alzheimer's Research Funding Legislation

Alzheimer's In The House was set up to be a place for us to tell others what we're doing to deal with the problem of living with Alzheimer’s. Now it seems that Alzheimer's has become a regular topic around here too. I didn't mean for that to happen but some things just seem to fit in here better than at Alzheimer's In The House. I've posted messages about H.R. 3286 (Read pdf version) and S.1492 (Read pdf version), Alzheimer's Breakthrough Act of 2009 at both sites. I've contacted my elected officials to urge them to support both of these bills.

Today I was reading something that lead me to S. 1555 (Read pdf version), A bill to establish the Office of the National Alzheimer's Project. The piece I'd been reading had lead me to believe that S.1555 was all about getting more funding for Alzheimer's research. In my opinion S.1555 does more to expand the size of the federal government than it does to find a cure for Alzheimer's. I'm sorry folks but we don't need to find another Czar, we need to find a cure.

A New Name For Health-Care Reform 2009

One of the first things I heard on the radio Wednesday morning was the news of Edward Kennedy's death. I figured then that the Obama gang would try to use Kennedy's death to get their health-care reform bill passed. So I was not at all surprised to read, Robert C. Byrd (W.Va.), called for passage of health-care reform in Kennedy's honor. "As a tribute to his commitment to his ideals, let us stop the shouting and name-calling and have a civilized debate on health-care reform, which I hope, when legislation has been signed into law, will bear his name," he said." (Continue Reading) I guess Byrd figures that urging our elected officials to pass it as a tribute to Kennedy will make the Health-Care Control Act a little easier to swallow. I feel that Byrd may have stooped to a new all time low by trying to use a deceased persons name to get a piece of unwanted (By the folks back home) legislation passed. Get ready for the next round folks their coming to ram the Edward M. Kennedy Memorial Health-Care-Control Act Of 2009 down your throat.

I Just Got Home From A Town Hall Meeting

I've just been home for a short while now. I went to our United States Representative Sam Graves (R-Mo) town hall meeting. During the question and answer part they took questions right up to the last person before me and announced that would be the last question. So I didn't get to ask Representative Graves where he stands on H.R. 3286. After the meeting one of his staffers gave me a little card to fill out that had a space for questions. I wrote a little bit about Alzheimer's being in Sues family history and ask him where he stood on H.R. 3286. Graves did bring his copy of the health care reform bill with him, all one thousand plus pages of it. He is opposed to it. He said they will try to pass it in September or October. They can't let it wait until next year because that is an election year and the health care reform bill is radioactive. No one will support it then for fear of losing their job. Graves also pointed out that some of what is in the current bill was also in the 93 Hillarycare. Folks didn't want it then and they don't want it now.

An Example Of Why

I just read a pretty good example of why I'd like to see our elected officials pass H.R. 3286 and S.1492, the Alzheimer's Breakthrough Act of 2009. "UCLA researchers determine toxicity levels of Alzheimer's clusters in brain". The researchers mentioned are working on finding the cause of Alzheimer's. Someone develops Alzheimer's every seventy seconds, finding the cause could reduce the number of folks that are at risk of developing Alzheimer's in the future. The funding that H.R. 3286 and S.1492 will provide will help keep this much needed research going. Expensive? Yes, but I feel it will be less expensive than providing care for the millions of folks that now have Alzheimer's and the countless number that will develop Alzheimer's in the future if this research comes to an end due to a lack of funding.

Please contact your elected officials and urge them to support H.R. 3286 and S.1492.

I don't know if you had heard my Wife has Alzheimer's or not. I pray that you never have to tell anyone that your spouse, or any of your loved ones has this devastating disease, but I'm afraid you will in the future if you haven't had to do so already. Every 70 seconds,someone will develop Alzheimer's. That is why I'm urging you to read H.R. 3286 and S.1492, the Alzheimer's Breakthrough Act of 2009. If passed this legislation will provide much needed funding to help researchers find new ways to slow the diseases progress and one day find a cure for Alzheimer's. I hope you will contact your elected officials and urge them to support H.R. 3286 and S. 1492 for the millions of people that are now living with Alzheimer's and the millions of people that are at risk of developing it in the future.

Hope's For 2010

The GOP is hoping the revolt over Obamacare will gain the party some votes in 2010, "But the conservative mobilization has also created an unusual dilemma for Republican leaders, who want to turn the enthusiasm into election victories next year but find themselves the target of ire from many of the same activists." (Continue reading) All one has to do to see that the folks back home are angry at both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party for good reason. Once again I have to say that could be good news for the Constitution Party, "The CP is the third largest political party in terms of voter registration. There are 367,000 registered Constitution Party voters. (This number does not take into account the many states which do not tally voter registrations by party. In addition, thousands of voters registered with other parties have chosen to vote for Constitution Party candidates at the national, state and local levels.)" (Continue reading) I hope the battles over Obamacare, Bailouts and Immigration reform will help the Constitution Party grow even more between now and the 2010 elections. I feel putting CP candidates in office would bring about the change that folks voted for and didn't get last year.

The Folks Are Mad As Hell

I'm thinking Jon Christian Ryter is right. The folks back home are mad as hell for a number of reasons as they should be. "The protesters, in this instance, were not the minority voices of the voting public, they were the voting public. (And, the White House can't steal enough ACORN votes next year to overrule the will of the People who clearly intend to fire a bunch of Congressmen and Senators.)" (Continue reading). I hope and pray that anger will turn out to be good news for the Constitution Party when the 2010 election rolls around. It's time we elect so constitutionalists that will take their oath of office seriously and represent the folks back home instead of the lobbyists that are now paying for their extravagant life styles.

The Jon Christian Ryter column mentions some of the folks that will feel the bad effects of Obama care, "Boxer apparently believes that the American people won't mind if their health care is doled out in dribbles while their children wait weeks or months to visit to the pediatrician when they get sick; or that the elderly won't object to being denied healthcare because old age is eventually terminal anyway." Now that she has Alzheimer's I wonder where that puts my Wife Sue and approximately 5.3 million others that are living with Alzheimer's Disease? Will they get the care they need or will they be told to go home and wait to die?

Unemployment Figures

I always have a problem with articles that try to paint a rosy picture while telling about the unemployment rate. It seems to me that there are some folks that are forgotten about. The ones whose benefits have ran out. Mine will soon, I was laid off on August 31, 2008. After the benefits are gone and I'm no longer drawing unemployment they will be able to consider me employed because I'm no longer calling in to file my weekly claim.

For the past eighteen years friends and family of Captain Speicher could not be sure about what happened to him. Today they have closure. They will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm Still Alive

It's been over two months since I posted a message. That doesn't mean I've lost interest in whats going on around us. My feelings about what is being done to our country are as strong as ever, maybe stronger. My absence from blogging wasn't the result of my finding full time employment that kept me away from the computer. I do have a part time job now though, so I'm no longer completely unemployed. I've been neglecting this site because I've been busy right here at home.

My Wife, Sue has had a number of health problems for several years. About four months ago we started to notice she was having memory problems. We were quite concerned because her Mother has Alzheimer’s disease. Her Grandmother passed away as a result of Alzheimer’s, and the family has reason to believe her Great Grandmother was also a victim of Alzheimer’s but in her case it went undiagnosed. When Sue went in for testing they first told her she had Dementia. Now they tell us she has and are treating her for the first stage of Alzheimer’s disease. So to help her (us) out I've taken on a few more of the household duties/chores.

What's next? I plan to start posting messages here regularly again. With Sues' help/partnership we're starting a new site. Alzheimer’s In The House will be a place for us to tell others what we're doing to deal with the problem of living with Alzheimer’s. We hope others will share their stories/solutions to problems with all of us. We'll also share news about new treatments or possible cures, Hope. If you know of anyone that is dealing with Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease tell them to stop in and see us.

In Memory Of William Joseph Allen III

I never met Mr. William Joseph Allen III, I heard about him from a couple of my friends that knew him and tried to help. "The death certificate said William Joseph Allen III died at 11:15 p.m. on March 4, 2009. He was 26 years old. The coroner listed the cause of death as an accidental overdose of alcohol and drugs, Oxycotin." Now I'm thinking there was more to Mr. Allen than a life of drug and alcohol addiction. "There was little doubt William Allen was destined to serve his country in the U.S. Marines. His life and, ultimately, his death seemed inextricably bound by that call to service." (Continue Reading) I feel this happens much to often. Brave young men and women answer the call to serve our country in a time of war. They bring ghosts (Personal problems) home with them. Some turn to drugs and alcohol to quiet the ghosts. We can see they have a drug and alcohol problem but fail to see or give any thought to why they do this to themselves until it's to late. I don't feel they are any less a hero than someone that dies in battle.

Rest In Peace Mr. Allen.

Gone But Not Forgotten

After I contacted Jeffrey Bennett of the Federal Observer this morning I found out that he had not yet learned of Ted Sampley's passing. Ted was a Vietnam Veteran that dedicated much of his time/life to getting the the bottom of the POW/MIA issue/cover up. After receiving my e-mail Jeffrey must have immediately went to work on this great tribute to a great man/hero. I'm sure that Ted will be missed by everyone that is actively involved in POW/MIA issues and they will never let him be forgotten. I feel that it should be up to each of us to get involved with this and other grass roots organizations that work tirelessly to get to the bottom of this shameful cover up. We should not rest, or allow our elected officials to rest until every POW/MIA from all of our wars is accounted for. I'm sure that Ted now has the answers he searched for for so long. May He Rest In Peace.

Mackintyre's Church

I think it was September or October of last year that I first heard about Mackintyre's dream of building a church. The first article I read was published shortly after he passed away. An April 11, 2009 Kansas City Star article By LAURA BAUER tells that Mackintyre's dream of building a church will soon become a reality. "As Stacey Garton held her son that September morning in Liberty Hospital, unable to let his body go, she told her husband, through tears, what was already in his heart.“You know we have to build that church.” (Continue Reading).

I'm sure that others besides Stacey wonder why building a church was so important to young Mackintyre. “I ask God every day, ‘What am I supposed to do with a church?’” Stacey said. “It’s not like it’s a pony farm. I would know what to do with 100 ponies.”Yet Stacey believes there’s a reason her son was so adamant for so many years.“We may never know for who or why we’re building this, and it’s not important as long as the job is done.” I feel Mackintyre knew why the church was to be built and all of us will find out why, in God's time.

I've managed to lose the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) report (Interesting reading if you can find it) that is mentioned in a recent column posted at the Constitution Party web site. The column says (According to the report) you might be a potential domestic terrorist if you support the Constitution, oppose unlawful taxation, supported 2008 presidential candidates Republican Ron Paul, Libertarian Bob Barr or Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin or if you are opposed to abortion, are against unconstitutional gun control, if you display pro-Constitution bumper stickers or own copies of certain books and documentaries (Continue Reading).

I'm a member of the Constitution Party and yes I have a CP bumper sticker on the back of my pickup. I support the Constitution 100%. I was put up for adoption at birth, that should tell you how I feel about abortion. I support Gun Owners Of America and JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION
OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP . There are a lot more books and documentaries that I'd like to have but I'm out of work. I'm thinking I might be a potential domestic terrorist according to the MIAC Report, maybe you are too? I won't let the idea of being labeled a potential domestic terrorist change my position on the issues listed above. I know I'm not planning on carrying out a terrorist attack unless posting a message here, writing a letter to the editor of a newspaper or contacting my elected officials to express my opinion on the issues is considered to be a terrorist attack.

An e-mail alert from the Constitution Party Of Missouri drew my attention to an attack on a North Carolina home school.

I don't see anything in North Carolina's Home Schooling laws that lead me to believe Ms. Mills did anything wrong. I feel if anyone violated the law it is Judge Ned Mangum of Wake County, North Carolina. "“It is the public policy of the State in matters of education that “No human authority shall, in any case whatever, control or interfere with the rights of conscience’, or with religious liberty and that religion, morality and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind ... the means of education shall forever be encouraged.” N.C. Gen. Stat. § 115C-547.". He has interfered with Ms. Mills rights of conscience and her children's education. If his ruling is allowed to stand Home Schools nation wide will soon fall under attack, if it works for one judge in one state it will catch on and spread. War Clouds On The Horizon?

Looking for work and some other family issues are still taking a lot of time that I would normally use to post messages here. Sometimes it's even hard to keep up with whats going on with the rest of the world but I read something today that got my attention.

I feel I'm pretty safe in saying everyone knows North Korea has announced it's plan to launch a satellite and that Japan and the United States feel the launch could actually be a long range missile test. North Korea has issued a statement saying that any attempt to shoot their satellite (If that's what it is) down will result in war (Continue Reading).

Any time that I hear about something like this happening in the Asia/Pacific region I find myself wondering what way will China lean if the situation escalates. I feel that the news of Chinese naval vessels harassing the USNS Impeccable should answer that question (Continue Reading).

Now I'm thinking that I recall (I could be mistaken) Joe Biden making a statement about Obama being tested by a foreign power in the first few months of his presidency. If this is that test it is one that we can not afford to fail.

Westboro Church Sues City Over Funeral Ordinance

I've been away/busy for the past few weeks. I had Christmas and New Year events to attend and or co-host. As a rule we don't get into a lot of that but my Wife wanted to do something different this year. We have even moved an old friend of about forty years into the apartment in our basement. He recently became homeless, there was no way we could leave him on the streets even if his situation had been his own fault, which it wasn't. There are some things a person just shouldn't do, there is an article about some folks that don't seem to understand that in my local paper today (Saturday, January 10, 2009).

Westboro Baptist Church has filed a federal lawsuit against the city of Saint Joseph, Missouri. "The lawsuit alleges the city ordinance infringes upon individual speech, religious liberty and assembly rights, and creates a “chilling effect” for Westboro to express its views." (Continue Reading) I agree with the Westboro members, as United States citizens our guaranteed rights should not be infringed upon. However, I also feel that as citizens we should use some common sense when exorcising these rights. That is something I don't feel the Westboro members could be accused of doing. They don't seem to care about the “chilling effect” their funeral protests have on the friends and family members of the deceased. I can't think of to much that would make me happier than Westboro Baptist Church losing some of their ASSets when this case goes to court.

Who's To Blame?

I got an interesting e-mail about who's to blame for our country's problems from Earl Long of FairTax.org. He seems to be willing to except some of the blame and he issues a warning.

Speaking in terms which are not easily misunderstood ain’t always easy.

Recently in conversation concerning the FairTax, I couldn’t resist a few
words about the miscreant politicians who frequently tell people that
all maladies economic, suffered by the general population, are someone
else’s fault. That is to say, ineffective government, inadequate
unions, greedy individuals and corporations, and sundry evil plots are
offered up to the old “blame game.”

The person to whom I spoke responded incredulously, “Isn’t that exactly
what the FairTax message is? It’s the government’s fault!”

Folks, for the record, this is my opinion: All, I repeat all, idiotic,
irresponsible and oppressive action taken by our government is our
fault. Period! We do still live under a constitutional republic. The
government can only do what we, by acceptance, will tolerate.

I have never lynched a congressman or senator, but I have seen many who
earned just such a fate. Nevertheless, I certainly should have done
something. The fact that until recent years I did nothing isn’t someone
else’s fault. If we continue to do nothing I guarantee we will get the
same result.

Good morning, or I guess I should say good afternoon since I'm a little late. Last night (right after midnight) I was reading the on line version of my local paper and thinking about this weeks question. I came across two articles that told about the ice storm that hit this area last winter, "Ice is gone, but lessons live on" and "Storm hit poor, elderly the hardest". While I was reading the second article our power went out for four hours. Last year we were without power and heat for four days. The two articles and last nights power outage caused me to think about some preparations we need to take around our house. That leads to this weeks Question Of The Week. How prepared are you, how long do you figure you could survive if a natural disaster left you without heat and power and unable to get out to get needed supplies?

Right after I read this St. Joseph News-Press article that mentions moving the Guantanamo detainees to the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks on Fort Leavenworth I decided to check out a Leavenworth, Kansas paper to get more information. I was quite pleased to see Leavenworth city officials were opposed to the idea. "Leavenworth city commissioners expressed their concerns regarding a national issue when they met on Tuesday." (Continue Reading) I live in Saint Joseph, Missouri and for some strange reason the idea of having approximately 250 would be terrorist housed 38 miles south of me just isn't all that appealing. I can think of a pretty much endless list of things that could possibly go wrong with this plan. I don't feel the Guantanamo detainees should be housed anywhere near an area that has a large civilian population unless we can be assured that the facility would be escape proof. I'm thinking we once had a prison in the United States that made that claim. Maybe we should talk to Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi about turning Alcatraz Island into a Federal Prison once again.

A December 8 Leavenworth Times article says the Lansing, Kansas (Part of the Kansas City metropolitan area) City Council is also opposed to the idea of moving the Guantanamo detainees to the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks on Fort Leavenworth. "In a last minute addition to the agenda, the Lansing City Council passed a resolution on Thursday opposing the moving of detainees from the Guatanamo Bay facility to Fort Leavenworth." (Continue Reading) After I read it I contacted my United States Representative Sam Graves (R-MO) to urge him to oppose this move. I still do not feel the Guantanamo detainees should be held in an area with a large civilian population.

After I learned that United States Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) had filed S. 3721, to prohibit the use of funds to transfer individuals detained by the United States at the Naval Station at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas I contacted both of my United States Senators, Kit Bond (R-MO) and Claire McCaskill (D-MO) to urge them to support S. 3721. I hope they will see the flaws in the plan to move the detainees and take action.

Always On Watch left on my December 1, 2008 post "Celebrate Bill Of Rights Day, December 15, 2008" reminds me of a poem that was written by my old friend Jerry Hughes several years ago. Obama vs. Pope Benedict on Abortion

A November 30, 2008 Washington Times column By Jeffrey T. Kuhner "Obama vs. Pope Benedict" tells of a possible political revolt if Obama follows through with his plans to get the Freedom of Choice Act passed. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only non-Catholic that will be on the side of the un-born in this battle. I'm thinking now would be the time to contact our elected officials. Let them know that you are contacting them on behalf of those that can not yet speak for themselves. Urge them to oppose the Freedom Of Choice Act. Remind them of the fact that some former lawmakers found themselves out of work after they supported Bill Clinton's Assault Weapons Ban, something else that a lot of common folks opposed. Help them remember that history has a tendency to repeat it's self if we don't learn from it.

Celebrate Bill Of Rights Day, December 15, 2008

I hope you are making plans to make December 15 a special day. The first ten Amendments to the United States Constitution, our Bill Of Rights were ratified on that day in 1791. If you have young family members take a little time to read the Bill Of Rights aloud with them. Ask them if they feel these rights are as important today (Dec. 15) as they were 217 years ago. Take it a little farther, talk to your friends, find out if they feel we are losing our rights. See if they feel some of them have been forgotten or are being ignored. Contact your Mayor and City Council. Urge them to pass a resolution making December 15th Bill Of Rights Day in your area. Have them place a copy of the Bill Of Rights and a copy of their resolution just inside the entrance to City Hall for all to see. What ever you do don't let December 15, 2008 pass without giving some thought to your God given rights.

Good morning. I've been a little surprised by some the responses I've gotten when I talked with a few friends about the subject of this weeks question. A trip from just about anywhere in the United States to the local grocery store will show you our roads and bridges are deteriorating. If you were to reach over and pick up your local paper right now chances are you'd find something about the rising unemployment rate. We're facing a lot of problems and most if not all of them involve the economy. There has been a lot of talk about a new stimulus package. I don't think there is anyone that really believes the tax payers will be getting another check. This weeks Question Of The Week is would you support or oppose a stimulus package that brought us a new version of the WPA (Work Projects Administration)to put the unemployed back to work repairing our roads and bridges?

Welcome Home Lance Cpl. Kurt E. LaPlant

Several members of my family including myself wear POW/MIA Bracelets and look forward to the day we can say there is no longer a need to do so. That day will not come until each and everyone of our POW/MIA's are accounted for. The LaPlant family's questions have been answered. "The LaPlant family’s emotions are mixed. Without a body, Richard LaPlant had a hard time giving up hope that his brother was alive.“You always thought he was over there hiding away all the time,” he said. For a few years, he entertained the thought that Kurt survived the crash and became a prisoner of war nobody knew about." (Continue Reading) They now have their closure. We are sorry to hear of their loss, they will be in our thoughts and prayers. There are still many questions to be answered. We will continue to pray for the others that are still missing and wait for the day we can welcome them home.

Obama Wins

I was just reading Obama's acceptance speech (Continue Reading) and found something I felt was interesting. "There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government can't solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it's been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years — block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand." I think we should take him up on his offer. Starting January 20, 2009 look up and study every piece of legislation that is introduced in or being considered by the House or Senate. Contact your elected officials and let them know your opinion of the bill and ask for theirs. Let them know that should they support unconstitutional bills they can be removed from office just like Obama was put in. We should remind Mr. Obama that a president that signs unconstitutional bills into law can be removed from office before the end of the term. It's time that all of our elected officials are reminded, they work for us.

Campaign 2008, Closing Comments

Tomorrow we will all be going to cast our votes for the best possible choice for President of the United States. It doesn't really matter that we will never all agree on who that is. In a recent column (Vote to ensure representative government) Ken Connor lets us know that it's being informed and casting the vote that counts. "The Founders' belief in republican democracy turned out to be well-founded. More than two centuries later, we continue to live in the freest country in the world. But that freedom is only secured by our continued right to vote, and we have a duty to exercise that right, lest we allow the tyranny of the few to hold sway over the many. As John Quincy Adams said, "Where annual elections end, there slavery begins." Elections by the populace are the surest succor for freedom." (Continue Reading) A few years ago our Grand-Daughter gave me a great little book, Pray for Our Nation. I pray everyone will give some thought to page 20 before going to bed tonight.

Election of Godly Leaders

Father, I desire to vote intelligently in all elections. I pray that You will bring to light the things I need to know so I may vote in line with Your plan, will and purpose.

May things not only come to light for the Christian community, but may things be made clear to the unbelieving community as well. I pray that what is right would be so clear that even unbelievers would vote using wisdom and demanding honesty and uprightness from their politicians.

Dear Father, in the name of Jesus, may the citizens of our nation become so weary of sin and degradation in our nation's leaders that they will begin to seek out godly leaders to represent them on every level of government. Give such leaders favor with the public and the media.

Father, make our nation a fragrance in the earth, a force to be reckoned with, a hand extended to those in need.

A local Catholic Church sets up a display every year to draw attention to abortion. "At first glance, it might look like a graveyard. This isn’t the intent, but it’s fitting in that the display seeks to portray the number of lives ended by abortion since the procedure became legal in 1973: one million for each of the 48 crosses standing in front of St. James, 5814 King Hill Ave. in St. Joseph.

“It’s tragic, because they’re mostly lives lost for the convenience of the mother,” says Candise Schmidling, one of the parishioners involved in creating the display. “The baby doesn’t have a voice or protection like it should.” (Continue Reading)

Mentioning abortion will get my attention real quick. I was born in 1950 and put up for adoption at birth. My adoption papers show my Birth Mothers name and read father unknown. That leads me to believe she was unwed, and chances are she would have been looked down on in 1950. If she would have looked into it she probably could have found someone that would perform an abortion but she chose to let me live. She might have made some mistakes along the way but as far as I know this unknown lady was not a murderer. I admire her more than any of the pro-choice politicians that are currently running for office. That is just one of my reasons for voting for Chuck Baldwin and Darrell Castle for President and Vice President on November 4, 2008.

I was just going through my e-mail and found one that ask and answers a very interesting question.

WHO WOULD JESUS VOTE FOR ?

1. Jesus would not vote according to his "pocketbook." 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

2. Jesus is Pro Life. Jeremiah 1:5 Before you were formed in the body of your mother I had knowledge of you, and before your birth I made you holy...Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

3. Jesus is not tolerant of the homosexual lifestyle. Romans 1:27-28 And in the same way the men gave up the natural use of the woman and were burning in their desire for one another, men doing shame with men, and getting in their bodies the right reward of their evil-doing. And because they had not the mind to keep God in their knowledge, God gave them up to an evil mind, to do those things which are not right...

4. Jesus would not vote for anyone who has interests in other religions besides Christianity. John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.No one comes to the Father except through me.

5. Jesus is against welfare (the church should provide for people's needs). 2 Thessalonians 3:10

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

6. Jesus knows who really controls the economy. Matthew 6:31-34 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

7. Jesus is not worried about social security or the stock market. Matthew 6:19-20 Do not store up for ourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy,and where thieves do not break in and steal.

It all comes down to this. We need God in America again. Our economy, our children, our marriages, etc. need healing.

While no candidate looks to be a strong Christian candidate, except Chuck Baldwin with the Constitution Party - as a nation which one will lead us closer to God and not farther away? 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

As Christians, who we vote for does matter to God! Romans 14:11-12 As surely as I live,' says the Lord, every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God. ' So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

I'm a Christian and I approve of this message...

A Narcissist President

Our computer was down for several days so now we are trying to catch up on our e-mail.I just read one that I felt was very interesting/worth sharing. This is the first time I've heard anyone call one of our two main stream presidential candidates a narcissist but I think the author is on to something here. I hope you will read and think about it between now and November 4, 2008.

I have spent a lot of time studying Obama over the last few weeks.
I read all of the 300 page book "The Obama Nation" by Jerome Corsi.
Mr. Corsi- whom I have spoken with and trust- started researching Barack in 2005
after he heard him speak at the 2004 Democratic Convention.
I believe his book as well as many other sources I have researched in
these last weeks substantiates that which Ali Sina -who I do not know- has
written below.
I realize that this information may make some of you not like me as much any more,
but I believe that our great nation is at maybe the most dangerous cross-road
she has been at since her birth. I believe it is so serious that we must ALL
take a stand. I don't pretend to know Barack's heart , but I have checked his
record and acquaintences and to me he is just plain scary.
It is OUR watch and we will answer to our future generations as to what we allowed.

men to do nothing". Let's not be found doing nothing.
The last generation was not exposed in school to the teachings that most of

I saw him. At first I was excited to see a black candidate. He looked
youthful, spoke well, appeared to be confident, a wholesome presidential
package. I was put off soon, not just because of his shallowness but
also
because there was an air of haughtiness in his demeanor that was
unsettling.
His posture and his body language were louder than his empty words.
Obama's
speeches are unlike any political speech we have heard in American
history.
Never a politician in this land had such a quasi "religious" impact on
so
many people. The fact that Obama is a total incognito with zero
accomplishment makes this inexplicable infatuation alarming. Obama is
not
an
ordinary man. He is not a genius. In fact, he is quite ignorant on most
important subjects. Barack Obama is a narcissist. Dr. Sam Vaknin, the
author
of "Malignant Self Love," also believes, "Barack Obama appears to be a
narcissist."

Vaknin is a world authority on narcissism. He understands it and
describes
the inner mind of a narcissist like no other person. When he talks about
narcissism everyone listens. Vaknin says that Obama's language, posture
and
demeanor, and the testimonies of his closest, nearest and dearest
suggest
that the Senator is either a narcissist or he may have narcissistic
personality disorder (NPD).

Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves. Jim
Jones,
the charismatic leader of People's Temple, the man who led over 900 of
his
followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own
children was also a narcissist. Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko
Asahara,
Joe Stalin, Saddam, Mao Zedong, Kim Jong IL, and Adolph Hitler are a few
examples of narcissists of our time. All these men had a tremendous
influence over their fanciers and followers. They created a personality
cult
around themselves, and with their blazing speeches elevated their
admirer's
souls, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds
a
new zest for life. Those men gave their followers hope! They promised
them
the moon, but alas, they invariably brought them to their doom. When you
are
a victim of a cult of personality, you don't know it until it is too
late.

One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse.
"Obama's early life was decidedly chaotic and replete with traumatic and
mentally bruising dislocations," says Vaknin. "Mixed-race marriages were
even less common then. His parents went through a divorce when he was an
infant (two years old). Obama saw his father only once again, before he
died
in a car accident. His mother re-married and Obama had to relocate to
Indonesia, a foreign land with a radically foreign culture, to be raised
by
a stepfather. He was raised as an only child, full of himself and no
others.
He never had to share the spotlight with any siblings. At the age of
ten,
he
was whisked off to live with his maternal (white) grandparents. He saw
his
mother only intermittently in the following few years and then she
vanished
from his life in 1979. She died of cancer in 1995."

One must never underestimate the manipulative genius of pathological
narcissists. They project such an imposing personality that it
overwhelms
those around them. Charmed by the charisma of the narcissist, people
become
like clay in his hands. They cheerfully do his bidding and delight to be
at
his service. The narcissist shapes the world around him and reduces
others
in his own inverted image. He creates a cult of personality; his
admirers
become his co-dependents.

Narcissists have no interest in things that do not help them to reach
their
personal objectives. They are focused on one thing alone, and that is
power.
All other issues are meaningless to them and they do not want to waste
their
precious time on trivialities. Anything that does not help them is
beneath
them and does not deserve their attention. If an issue raised in the
Senate
does not help Obama in one way or another, he has no interest in it. The
"Present" vote is a safe vote; he used the "Present" all the time as a
member of the Illinois legislature. No one can criticize him if things
go
wrong. Why should he implicate himself in issues that may become
controversial when they don't help him personally? Those issues are
unworthy
by their very nature because they are not about him.

Obama's election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review
led
to a contract and an advance to write a book about race relations. The
University of Chicago Law School provided him with a fellowship and an
office to work on his book. The book took him a lot longer than expected
and
at the end it devolved into., guess what? His own autobiography! Instead
of
writing a scholarly paper focusing on race relations, for which he had
been
paid, Obama could not resist writing about his most sublime self. He
entitled the book "Dreams from My Father."

Not surprisingly, Adolph Hitler also wrote his own autobiography when he
was
still nobody. So did Stalin. For a narcissist no subject is as important
as
his own self. Why would he waste his precious time and genius writing
about
insignificant things when he can write about such an august being as
himself? Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless. As the norm,
they
lack conscience. This is evident from Obama's lack of interest in his
own
brother who lives on only one dollar per month. A man who lives in
luxury,
who takes a private jet to vacation in Hawaii, and who has raised nearly
a
half billion dollars for his campaign (something unprecedented in
history)
has no interest in the plight of his own brother. Why? His brother
cannot
be
used for his ascent to power. A narcissist cares for no one but himself.

This election is like no other election in the history of America. The
issues are insignificant compared to what is at stake. What can be more
dangerous than having a man bereft of a conscience, a serial liar, and
one
who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality as the leader of the
free
world?

I hate to sound alarmist, but one must be a fool if one is not alarmed.
Many
politicians are narcissists. They pose no threat to others. They are
simply
self-serving and selfish. [Witness Al Gore's Income Tax; it reveals that
he
gave away NO MONEY to charities, not even to a church!] Obama evinces
symptoms of pathological narcissism, which is different from the
run-of-the-mill narcissism of a Richard Nixon or Bill Clinton, for
example.
To him reality and fantasy are intertwined. This is a mental health
issue,
not just a character flaw. Pathological narcissists are dangerous
because
they look normal and even intelligent. It is this disguise that makes
them
treacherous. [Look up the word 'treachery.']

Today the Democrats have placed all their hopes in Obama. But this man
could
put an end to their party [and to this great nation]. The great majority
of
blacks have also decided to vote for Obama. Only a fool does not know
that
their support for him is racially driven.

Let us call a spade a spade [No pun intended]. This is racism, pure and
simple. The truth is that, while everyone carries a misconceived
collective
guilt towards blacks for wrongs done centuries ago by a bygone people to
a
bygone people, the blacks carry a collective rancor, enmity or vendetta
towards non-blacks, and to this day want to "stand up" to the white man.
They seem to be stuck in 19th century [encouraged by race baiters like
Al
Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and others].

The downside of this is, that if Obama turns out to be the disaster I
predict, he will cause widespread resentment among the whites. The
blacks
are unlikely to give up their support of their man. Cultic mentality is
pernicious and unrelenting. They will dig their heads deeper in the sand
and
blame Obama's detractors of racism. This will cause a backlash among the
whites. The white supremacists will take advantage of the discontent and
they will receive widespread support. I predict that in less than four
years, racial tensions will increase to levels not seen since the
turbulent
1960s. Obama will set the clock back decades. Americais the bastion of
freedom. The peace of the world depends on the strength of America, and
its
weakness translates into the triumph of terrorism and victory of rogue
nations. It is no wonder that Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, the Maoist
Castroists, the Hezbollah, the Hamas, the lawyers of the Guantanamo
terrorists, and virtually all sworn enemies of America are so thrilled
by
the prospect of "their man" in the White House. America is on the verge
of
destruction. There is no insanity greater than electing a pathological
narcissist as president."

I'm sure you have heard it said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results each time. Kind of like voting for a Democrat or Republican and expecting them to uphold the United States Constitution.

Question Of The Week, 10/12/08

Good afternoon. Yes, I'm late again. Some of you might know that I'm a Buchanan County Missouri Co-chair of the Constitution Party of Missouri. That and being laid off from work seem to be keeping me busy. For a 58 year old with a history of back problems finding a job in the United States is a job in it's self. Since I am an active member of the Constitution Party it should come as know surprise that my Question Of The Week would have something to do with third party politics. In his most recent column Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin writes about wasted votes. "When asked why they will not vote for a third party candidate, many people will respond by saying something like, "He cannot win." Or, "I don't want to waste my vote." It is true: America has not elected a third party candidate since 1860. Does that automatically mean, however, that every vote cast for one of the two major party candidates is not a wasted vote? I don't think so.
In the first place, a wasted vote is a vote for someone you know does not represent your own beliefs and principles. A wasted vote is a vote for someone you know will not lead the country in the way it should go. A wasted vote is a vote for the "lesser of two evils." Or, in the case of John McCain and Barack Obama, what we have is a choice between the "evil of two lessers." (Continue Reading) That is also the subject of this week's Question Of The Week. What do you feel would be a wasted vote, a vote for someone that you feel might win but they do not represent your beliefs and principles or someone that stands less of a chance to win but they do represent your beliefs and principles?

Consequence Management Response Force, or CCMRF

I don't think I'd ever heard of a "sea-smurf" until I read Chuck Baldwin's October 1, 2008 column, "U.S. Army Troops To Serve As U.S. Policemen?" At first a sea-smurf doesn't sound like something to fear. The idea of using the United States Army to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals should cause some concern in my opinion. When I hear someone called unruly I think of a drunk causing problems in a bar. Maybe it is someone that speaks out with an opposing view at a public or political event. Would a dangerous individual be the drunk driver that puts us all at risk, or the would be terrorist planning an attack? Maybe it's the activist that urges you to peacefully oppose the agenda of the powers that be. Who decides what it takes to be unruly or dangerous?

Question Of The Week, 10/5/08 Link Repaired

Good morning. Being out of work sure has brought on some changes, my sleep/wake schedule is all fouled up. I'm sure I've said looking for a job when your 58 years old is a job in it's self. Having a history of back problems doesn't help, and after your laid off for 30 days you no longer have insurance so your doctors lose interest in your case. The back pain takes a back seat when worrying about keeping a roof over your head and food on the table. All this makes it easy to understand why my local paper compares the financial crisis/bailout to a boat foundering in stormy waters. The article goes on to question how well the $700 billion "rescue plan" was understood by the public and the media. "A lot of people think it’s just writing a blank check to the financial sector,” said Dr. Mark Jelavich, chair of the economics department at Northwest Missouri State University. “I think that’s the main thing that people don’t understand ... maybe some of the media don’t understand.” (Continue Reading) This weeks Question Of The Week is. Looking at our National Debt will make a person wake up and wonder how that possibly could have happened. As of this time the National Debt is, $9,855,707,675,685.21, this weeks Question Of The Week ask you to make a prediction. How much longer do you feel it will be before the National Debt reaches ten trillion dollars?

A Dr. Ron Paul Endorsement

I've been trying to figure out what could possible be better than a Dr. Ron Paul endorsement every since I first got the news yesterday. "I’ve thought about the unsolicited advice from the Libertarian Party candidate, and he has convinced me to reject my neutral stance in the November election. I’m supporting Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate." (Continue Reading) I kept coming up blank until I read the comments that followed Ron Paul's announcement, it sounds like a good deal of Ron Paul's supporters will now be supporting Chuck Baldwin. I don't think the mainstream media will be able to ignore the Baldwin/Castle campaign much longer now that Dr. Paul and his army have arrived.

Constitution Week 2008

Today September 17, 2008 is the first day of Constitution Week (Click on Home after page opens) ( 9/17-9/23 ). A week long commemoration of one of our most important documents, the other one is the Bible (IMO). The week is meant to emphasize citizens responsibilities for protecting and defending our Constitution and preserving it for posterity. This week we should remind people that the Constitution is the basis of our great heritage and the foundation of our way of life. We should study and remind others to study the events that led up to the framing of our Constitution. If there are young people in the home getting them involved in this weeks celebration is very important. They are our country's' future. Chuck Baldwin mentions them in his 2008 salute to our Constitution. "On this Constitution Day of 2008, may this generation of Americans live up to its responsibility to valiantly bequeath to our posterity the same legacy of freedom that was so bravely and miraculously bequeathed to us. For the sake of freedom, for the love of our children, and for the safety and security of our republic, may each of us determine for ourselves--and commit to Almighty God--to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." (Continue Reading). Let's leave the television set's turned off for about an hour each night this week and use the time to study the Constitution.

Sarah Palin On Illegal Immigration/Amnesty

In his September 16, 2008 column Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin refers to Sarah Palin's answers to Charles Gibson's questions as very troubling. I found something else mentioned in the column troubling, "Since my last column, I have discovered that Sarah Palin did nothing to prevent the state of Alaska from being a sanctuary state for illegal aliens." After reading the La Frontera post that Chuck mentioned I did a little web surfing to see if I could find anything on my own. I didn't have any luck. This leads me to believe that Sarah Palin doesn't feel that our wide open borders, illegal aliens or amnesty are important issues. They are important to me. That's one of the reasons for the sign in my front yard which reads, "Stop Illegal Aliens Chuck Baldwin for President 08."

A Little Out Of Control Spending?

If you had a neighbor that was a retired mechanic,and a very good one from everything you'd heard would you let him work on your broken down car for free? All you'd have to do is pay for the parts. Or would you insist on taking it to the shop and paying top dollar? That is not the Question Of The Week. I think most of us would let our neighbor help us out. An e-mail I got from Downsize DC.org told of a recent post at Reason Magazines' Hit & Run blog site that shows us that is not how our government works. "Retired Glenwood Springs car dealer John Haines' hope of donating a giant chunk of snow -white marble to the federal government to replace the cracked Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery is stalled again." (Continue Reading). That should give us some idea as to why the national debt is currently $9,686,528,669,622.59 (As of 11:53 PM on 9/13/08). I've contacted my United States Representative (Sam Graves R-MO) and ask him to look into the matter or to explain why Thurman Higginbotham, deputy superintendent of Arlington won't except John Haines' donation. I figured there couldn't be a better time to contact Sam about this since he is up for re-election in November.

John McCain has every right to play the POW card. Five and a half years in various North Vietnamese POW camps is a major part of John's life, and if he chooses now to bring it up on the campaign trail, and to highlight it in his convention speech, who can deny him the right?

Lately, the media has been getting on him over this. Back in the 2000 campaign he would discuss his Vietnam years. Now, since Steve Schmidt, a former Karl Rove deputy, has taken over, suddenly both the campaign and McCain himself invoke his POW past in virtually every setting - from fielding questions from Jay Leno to answering questions about how many houses he owns.

Clearly, Schmidt knows that McCain's distinguished military record is an invaluable asset, especially in a campaign during wartime against someone who never wore the uniform.

The GOP's use of McCain's fellow former POWs in St. Paul was masterfully done. They were a part of each speech and added much to flesh out the inspirational story of McCain's imprisonment.

But McCain has opened the door to something he may not want to brag about: the U.S. Senate dealing with the issue of living U.S. POWs left behind at the end of the Vietnam War.

On this issue McCain and his campaign spokesmen remain silent.

And for good reason. As detailed in "An Enormous Crime: The Definitive Account of American POWs Abandoned in Southeast Asia," by former U.S. Rep Bill Hendon and Elizabeth Stewart (Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martins Press), a 2007 New York Times best seller, many U.S. government officials, Republican and Democrat, have ignored this emotional issue.

To keep it simple: McCain and others on the U.S. Senate Select Committee on POWs in 1991-1992 failed to acknowledge evidence brought to them from the DIA, the CIA, and other USG intelligence agencies. This evidence showed that U.S. POWs in 1992, 19 years after McCain and his group of POWs came home, were still laying down their names and "escape and evasion" codes in rice paddies and trails and fields adjacent to their prisons.

These authenticator codes, unique to each U.S. airman shot down (similar to a bank PIN code featured a combination of letters and numbers.

McCain was shown aerial and satellite images of these signals, which basically mean, "I am alive! Please come and get me!"

In his convention speech last night Sen. McCain was repeatedly interrupted with shouts of "USA! USA! USA!" Well, one of the most startling escape and evasion codes captured by an American satellite in 1988 was a gigantic USA, with a letter K (known as a "walking K") underneath it, placed by a downed American pilot in Laos 15 years after the end of the Vietnam War. This photograph is on the cover of "An Enormous Crime."

McCain was also shown transcripts of intercepted Laotian military radio transmissions in which communist Pathet Lao soldiers discuss the movement of "American prisoners."

And he was shown over 900 first-hand, live-sighting reports of U.S. POWs held against their will in both Laos and Vietnam.

Did McCain, a decorated and heroic former POW, jump up and use his clout and status to demand that everything possible be done to rescue these men?

No.

Instead he played politics to help an embattled President George H.W. Bush try to defeat Ross Perot, a strong POW advocate, and Bill Clinton.

In effect, McCain the so-called "man of integrity, honor and character" who says he always puts country first, abandoned these men to a cruel fate. Their cries for help went unanswered.

This is not the first time that we've seen an article that tells of McCain's and other elected officials disgusting inaction on the POW/MIA issue. This is how ever the first time McCain has got his party's nomination. I feel that if he is going to tell of the time he served as a POW during this campaign he should also explain his stand on the BRING THEM HOME issue. I feel that he owes that to all of the POW/MIA families that have been waiting for one thing for decades. The Truth.

Joe Biden of Delaware as his vice presidential running mate early Saturday, balancing his ticket with a seasoned congressional veteran well-versed in foreign policy and defense issues." Since Obama's campaign has been all about "change" do you suppose that some Democrats/Obama supporters might have felt that they had been duped when he announced he had selected a running mate that has been a member of the United States Senate for the past 36 years?

Recently I received an e-mail from the Sunlight Foundation telling about a new blog site they have set up "so you can track the lavish parties lobbyists and big companies put on for our politicians. On the Web site, you're able to search for your member of Congress and see who has been throwing parties for them, and we even have a special section set up for the upcoming Democratic and Republican conventions." The good folks over at the Sunlight Foundation must have heard that old saying "The more the merrier" because they ask me to invite some friends over to check out their party. Come on, it's just getting started lets go see who's there. It's Party Time!

Good morning. I have a good excuse (IMO) for not posting anything for a week. I've (We've) been busy. My Wife, Sue and I have agreed to be the Constitution Party of Missouri Co-Chairs for Buchanan County. This will be on an interim basis until the October Convention. At that time a vote will be taken to see if we keep the position or not.

This weeks question deals with a statement a candidate for President from one of our two major parties made this past week. I have heard that (candidate) Senator John McCain said former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge's pro-choice position would not rule him out as a running mate. This weeks Question Of The Week is. Would a pro-choice running mate hurt or help the McCain campaign?

City Has Fastest-Growing Hispanic Population In U.S.

Here's a question for you and it isn't even Sunday. What United States city has the country's fastest growing Hispanic population? According to an August, 8, 2008 article in my local paper and the United States Census Bureau the answer is Saint Joseph, Missouri. "The Hispanic population in Buchanan County grew from 2,397 people in July 2006 to 2,980 in July 2007, a 24 percent increase. The majority of the growth occurred in St. Joseph, where a 21 percent jump was the largest by percentage in the nation." (Continue Reading) I live in the part of Saint Joseph that a good deal of these new residents have set up house keeping in. When I first heard that Triumph Foods was going to put a pork packing plant in Saint Joseph I knew we would see an increase in our Hispanic population but I never would have guessed that we'd be able to say we're number one. I don't have a problem with immigrants. I don't even have a problem with immigrants moving into my neighborhood, I wish they'd learn to speak English. I guess Mr. Ochoa and I will have to disagree there. I wonder, do auto shops in Mexico have English speaking mechanics to help United States citizens that take trips into Mexico? I do have a problem with people that come into our country illegally. They are not immigrants, they are illegal aliens and they should be deported as soon as they are caught. I have a problem with companies that knowingly hire illegal aliens. When ever they are caught doing this they should be fined lets say one thousand dollars per illegal caught. The fines should be doubled for a second offence, tripled for a third and so on. They should also pay all legal fees involved with the illegals deportation hearing and the transportation cost to get them back to the country they came from.

Good morning. Oh man it's the third of August, our oldest Great-Grand-Child's second birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Heather! I didn't have any problems coming up with a question this week. Because of an article in my local paper you almost got a question about Internet Addiction. I said almost because a column by Chuck Baldwin won out. In that column Mr. Baldwin says, "It is hard for this writer to laud President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, but in this case, even the socialist Roosevelt showed more integrity than our so-called "conservative" President, George W. Bush. When the 1936 Olympics were held in Berlin, Germany, President Roosevelt refused to attend those ceremonies for fear that his presence would give honor and prestige to the notorious Adolf Hitler. And so it would have. And, by the same token, when President Bush attends the opening ceremonies in China, he is giving honor and prestige to the bloody butchers of Beijing who have persecuted, tortured, and murdered multiplied thousands of the Chinese people since the communist regime took power in 1949." By attending the opening ceremonies is President Bush condoning actions China has taken which many people in the United States and in other parts of the world feel are human rights violations?

By now you will have heard about David Olofson, who loaned his
semiautomatic AR15 rifle to an unsavory character working with the
federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, a
runaway rogue agency the very existence of which is a violation of
the Constitution.

The BATFE claimed the rifle was "an unregistered machine gun" --
after they _engineered_ it to fire fully automatically, using their
choice of specially-selected ammunition, not the owner's. Now
Olofson is sitting in a prison cell because these government
subsidized criminals were free to use their own specialized
"justice system" to "make an example" of one innocent gun owner in
order to terrorize many more.

Now they're claiming that _any_ gun that is worn or broken and
will fire more than one cartridge with a single pull of the trigger
-- even a damaged side-by-side or over-under shotgun -- constitutes
a "machinegun".

Those of you who have viewed JPFO's video presentation, _BATFE
Fails the Test_ already know the dirty tricks and outright lies
that the agency routinely uses to make a conviction. John Glover,
another innocent gun owner, was fortunate to have a brilliant
attorney who demanded the BATFE's "testing" of his client's firearm
be videotaped. The result was a thoroughly embarrassing documentary
of the BATFE's dishonesty and incompetence. After it was viewed by
a federal prosecutor, the case against Glover never went to trial;
the BATFE lost.

Olofson, on the other hand, had only a federal public defender
to rely on, not knowledgeable counsel who insisted on a visual
recording of the defendant's rifle operating _before_ the BATFE
could reengineer it. The Liberty Crew at JPFO do not want their
friends to go to prison, so they've done a little engineering of
their own, creating a plan you can follow to help prevent the BATFE
from making you its next victim.

Here is what you need to do -- at minimum -- today!

Purchase, borrow, or rent a video camera and make a recording of
the operation of each weapon you own that might be reengineered to
fire more than once with a single pull of the trigger. You probably
don't need to worry about single-shot shotguns, rifles, or pistols.
Slide-action or bolt-action rifles and shotguns are probably okay,
as well.

Start by calling out the date, time, place of the test.

Call out serial number, model, and manufacturer, and show the
weapon to camera.

Show the labels of any ammunition you use; call out the maker's
name.

Then demonstrate the weapon firing.

Demonstrate its operation at every possible setting of the
safety selector, marked or otherwise. If you only have "safe" or
"fire", show that the weapon will not go to any "unmarked
position". CETMEs, H&Ks, FN-FALs, or others may have a marked "A"
position. Demonstrate that it allows nothing more than a single
shot fired for each pull of the trigger.

Never forget that the BATFE is claiming that _any_ gun -- even
your great-granddad's ancient double-barrelled Damascus shotgun --
that will fire twice or more with a single trigger-pull is a
"machinegun".

After videotaping the test, make copies for trusted friends and
family members, give one to your attorney, mail a copy to yourself.
Do not open the envelope, but keep it in a very secure space
outside your home.

Yes, whatever ammunition you use testing your firearm for the
video camera will cost you money, but it's cheaper than having to
sell your gun collection, or remortgaging your house, to pay legal
bills, and it could stop a federal prosecutor -- or the BATFE -- in
its tracks.

If, on the other hand, this whole routine -- or the necessity
for it -- strikes you as silly or insane, there's something else
you can do.

Good morning. I guess I should be saying good afternoon, I'm running a little late. I have a good reason though. I went to work at 15:00 yesterday, worked an eight hour shift and my relief didn't show up. Our contract & company policy say I have to stay over for two hours in a case like this. I figure if I'm going to stay over I might as well make it worth while so I stay as long as the contract allows, four hours. I'm dragging today and I haven't even got the paper read so this weeks question will be one of my own.

As far as I know (Like I said I haven't read the paper yet) neither McCain or Obama have named their running mates (Choice for Vice President) yet. This weeks Question Of The Week is. Just how important is that to you? Could their choice of running mates effect your decision on voting for, or not voting for one of the two major/mainstream Presidential candidates?

Coburn Omnibus Of More Irresponsible Spending

I was just reading an interesting column by Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media, "Senate Vote on More Money for U.N.". The column says, "Having failed to stop the irresponsible $50 billion global AIDS bill, Senate conservatives are now being given a second chance. Can they stand up to Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid and block the so-called Coburn Omnibus of more irresponsible spending? Reid jokingly named the bill after the Oklahoma Republican Senator, Tom Coburn, who has prevented dozens of excessive federal spending bills from passing the Senate. But Reid is actually titling the bill “Advancing America’s Priorities.” (Continue Reading) I wonder if our Senators will take the time to read this 398 page bill, a gift to the United Nations? If Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid's plan works and this piece of work is passed without adequate debate it will cost us no less than $11 billion. This is one more reason for us to contact our elected officials and urge them to sign on as a sponsor to the Read The Bills Act. I don't know about you but I don't feel that expecting them to read the bills they vote on and pass is asking to much of our members of congress.

Good morning, I had to put some gas in the truck this past Wednesday. I say put some gas in it because filling it up is now just a memory from the good ole days when we could get a gallon of gas for $3.00. Yes I remember it being lower than that but if you claim you can remember paying 29 cents a gallon some folks think your lying. In Saint Joseph, Missouri mid-range gas was $4.03 per gallon this past Wednesday. I've seen a couple of interesting articles on the energy crisis and drilling for oil this past week. Who Are These Bible Thumpers?

I just read an e-mail that tells about an interesting article that has been posted at the Constitution Party's (And My) candidate for Governor of the State of Missouri. The article tells about some folks that have been labeled Bible Thumper. "When someone makes the statement “Bible Thumper“, they refer to a Bible-believing Christian in a negative way. Yet, I feel great joy in my hope that they are talking about me." (Continue Reading)

If we go out and purchase a new vehicle or appliance it comes with a booklet that we really should read before operating that new vehicle or appliance, the owner operators manual. I feel that God made an owner operators manual available to help us through our time here on earth. It contains the answer to every problem we could possibly face. That would be the Bible. Just like the manufacturer of the new vehicle or appliance God leaves using or not using the manual up to us. The manufacturer of the new vehicle or appliance tells us that we should follow the instructions in their manual to get the maximum enjoyment from the new vehicle or appliance. I feel that following the instructions God gives us in the Bible will give us the maximum enjoyment out of our time here on earth and beyond.

Is it just me or do some of our elected officials seem to be ashamed to mention the Bible or call on God for help and guidance? Maybe they feel it is a sign of weakness. The Bible tells us how God feels about us being ashamed to mention his name. We need leaders that have the courage it takes to openly call on God and ask him to lead us back up this slope we've been going down. With God's help and guidance we will have the Great Republic our Founding Fathers intended to leave us.

The subject line read "Sad News - Col. Earl Hopper". One of those knew it was coming things,that we hope and pray somehow never will. "Col. Earl P. Hopper, father of POW/MIA Earl P. Hopper Jr., passed early this morning. Earl, head of Task Force Omega Inc., and former head of the National League of Families, was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was an ardent advocate for our POWs and MIAs and will be sorely missed.

To his wife, Patty and the Hopper family we offer our deepest sympathy.

As soon as we here about arrangements, we will let everyone know." The Colonel was one of the most interesting people I have ever met. A three war Veteran and Father of a POW/MIA/(?) A true patriot. One of our Grand-Daughters wears a POW/MIA bracelet with his Son's name on it. I got to hear the Colonel speak several times over the years. One time he said every where he went people ask him what kept him going. They told him he should just give up, it had been to long, all of our POW/MIA's were dead by now. I won't give you his answer until I post my answer to this weeks Question Of The Week which is In Memory Of Colonel Earl Hopper U.S.M.C. (Ret.). Why are you politically active (Why do you post messages or contact your elected officials about issues that are important to you)?

Question Of The Week, 7/6/08

Good morning. I kind of got the feeling that the media is still celebrating Independence Day. I couldn't find anything that I was satisfied with to use for this weeks question. So this week it will be something that just popped into my head and brought back a memory. I feel safe in saying that all of the political parties have web sites where we can find information about each party, including the party's platform. All of the candidates have their own web sites with information on where each of them stand on important issues. This weeks Question Of The Week is. Does the majority of voters put these tools to use or do they feel they can get all the information they need from their local paper and the nightly news?

Constitution Party of Missouri Regains Ballot Access for 2008 !

I got busy helping get things ready for our Independence Day guest/cook out and didn't post a message about a press release that was e-mailed to my Wife and I on July 3, 2008. (Continue Reading) Add that list of candidates to the Constitution Party's' candidates for President and Vice President (Continue Reading) and the party's platform (Continue Reading) and Missourians will truly have an opportunity to vote for change. This news couldn't have come at a much better time. Independence Day weekend and Missourians are free from the so called two party system.

Will The Real Mr. Obama Please Stand Up

In the last couple of days I've read a couple of articles that reminded me of an old television game show and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the program. If I remember right three or four contestants were supposed to try to stump the panel. The panel was supposed to figure out which contestant was the one they heard a little bit about at the beginning of the program. After the panel finished their questioning and cast their vote the show host said will the real Mr. or Mrs. (John Q. Public?) please stand up. I have heard that, "Many activists are outraged by the Senator's recent announcement that he will back a controversial bill to grant the Executive more spying powers and immunize telephone companies accused of illegal surveillance." (Continue Reading) They should be "outraged" many of them have sent checks to support the Obama campaign.Obama seems to have changed his position on an issue that is important to them as it should be. Maybe he didn't change his position, he might have refined his policy. (Continue Reading) Is it just me or is it becoming more difficult to keep track of where Obama stands on some issues? I am not now and never have been an Obama supporter. I'm thinking that someone in his camp needs to ask, the real Mr. Obama to please stand up.

Some of you might be going away for the Holiday weekend so it's not to early to post this. It's not Sunday but this is an interesting question if you care to answer it. "If our nation's Founders could visit us on this, our 232nd Independence Day, what would they make of us? What would they declare of us?" (Continue Reading) I feel Independence Day is one of our most important holidays. I also feel it's true meaning could be forgotten if we don't make an effort to teach our young family members what the day is about. It's not just picnics and fireworks but I did mention them last year about this time. (Continue Reading)Feel free to answer last years question if you'd like. At that time I also mentioned the recipe for my world famous (HA!)David's Independence Day Burgers. In case you missed that.

David's Independence Day Burgers.

Start out like you were going to make Classic Lipton Burgers:
1 pouch Lipton Onion Recipe Soup
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef 750 g

Combine Lipton Onion Soup with ground beef. Shape into 6 patties. Keep patties cold until your ready to grill. Fry six eggs (hard), keep them warm. Fry 12 strips of bacon, crisp, keep them warm. Slice cheese and tomatoes for each patty, keep cool. You need cool lettuce leaves ready. Grill burgers to suit taste. Serve on a bun topped with two strips of bacon, one egg,lettuce, sliced cheese and tomatoes. Don't let your doctor know you eat like this.

China &Cuba Searching For Oil? (Just A Thought)

First I heard that my United States Representative (Sam Graves) and a few other folks have claimed that China is drilling for oil right off the coast of the United States. Then I heard that China and Cuba had teamed up and were searching for oil. Then I heard that this was all rumor and I should not be concerned all I had to do was support Kay Barnes in the up coming election and everything would be alright. (Continue Reading) I don't know about you but I can't help but be concerned after hearing about a China/Cuba partnership.

I was concerned enough to see if I could find anything about a China/Cuba partnership in Granma International (A Cuban Publication). I didn't find anything that comes right out and mentions oil exploration off the coast of the United States, or anywhere else. I did find several articles that mention China. The first of them,"High-ranking Chinese political leader in Cuba" dated June 20, 2008 tells about He Guoquiang, a member of the Permanent Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and secretary of the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Commission of Disciplinary Control visiting the island (Cuba). He was to attend meetings where economic and scientific matters would be discussed. I'd guess oil could be mentioned at a meeting on economic and scientific issues. (Continue Reading)

The second article, "Raúl receives Chinese delegation" tells about the signing of an economic and technical cooperation agreement between the two countries. (Continue Reading) Once again I'm thinking that could include oil exploration. The article leads me to believe that everyone involved in the meetings would like to see the relationship between the two countries grow stronger.

The June 25, 2008 article, "Fidel receives outstanding leader of the Communist Party of China" seems to cover everything from Fidel's health to the Olympic Games (Continue Reading) except oil exploration.

In the last of the articles, "Chinese leader satisfied with visit to Cuba¡" He Guogiang says good bye to Cuba and promises to return one day, but still doesn't mention oil exploration. (Continue Reading)

I don't know if China and Cuba have formed a partnership to search for oil or not. I feel pretty safe in saying that China and Cuba have formed a relationship that the leaders of both countries want to strengthen. That is something I feel we should all be very concerned about. I'm old enough to remember another time when Cuba was involved in a relationship with a larger more powerful country. That relationship brought us the Cuban Missile Crisis. (Continue Reading) I'm not to sure that todays leaders could get us out of something like that. I can't say that I'd heard a word about this China/Cuba relationship before I started looking into the China-Cuba oil exploration claims. Maybe I missed the news reports. I can't believe that I'm the only one that feels this needs some attention. I really don't think China is getting ready to put a missile base on the island but there are other possibilities. Go ahead and call me paranoid if you'd like. What if China and Cuba were to become such close friends that Cuba would agree to allow China to put a military instillation on the island. A new home for a thousand or so elite ground troops. Just a short hop from the Florida coast. To close for me. No matter what Wal-Mart says I'm not convinced that China is our friend.

Question Of The Week, 6/29/08

Good morning. This has been an interesting week and it had a little surprise to go with it. "Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said she was “profoundly disappointed” that Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito voted to overturn Washington, D.C.’s handgun ban." (Continue Reading) I wasn't surprised by Feinsteins being “profoundly disappointed”, I was surprised by the ruling. This weeks Question Of The Week will be a two part question. Do you support or oppose the Supreme Court ruling that overturned the D.C. handgun ban? Do you feel there will be a big push get more gun control bills passed in the next four years?
